HELP! Removeing starter motor Ninja 1000

Im trying to remove the stater motoer from my Kaw 1000. I haveing a terrible time with removeing the last of the two 8mm bolts that hold it on. Do I have to remove the side cover because I cant get to the 8mm bolt due to the fact that the oil filler spout for the engine is in the way. Is there a better way or do I have to remove the front sprocket and drain the oil and remove the cover just to get the last bolt holding the starter on? I tried to download shop manuals but couldnt get them for whatever reason. Any help I would appreciate. Thanks KTM36
