Gotta be the workers' fault. There is no way a wonderful, benevolent corporation like Honda could ever treat employees unfairly. Only Harley could be cruel and inhuman. Just look at the motorcycles they force their customers to buy!

Could this be the start of a modern union/workers rights movement in India? So far the MBAs on Wall Street have viewed Asia as a cheap non union labor pool i.e. outsourcing millions of jobs. Outsourcing opponents have viewed outsourcing as a march to the bottom (low wages) for all workers. Could this be the natural backlash that occurs when workers are exploited and not treated with dignity and respect? "A market correction?" Of all the places a Honda scooter plant. Interesting story Steven, thanks....

nah its all harleys fault or is it the dems, round up the usual suspects wheres Bill and Hillary. Actually this is probably an area where the union is doing some good unlike here where there a bunch of thugs. We needed unions in the early 20th century but not now. I think these developing countries are some what where we were in that time period as labor and economy goes and these are just the bumps to move up the socio/economic ladder

Just a guess... but by any chance are you a suburbanite beta-male office worker?

"We needed unions in the early 20th century but not now"

Having worked in a slaughterhouse butchering 1,200 head of cattle every day for 5 years I would disagree. There are still plenty of work places in America where workers need union protection... they're just not the kind of places where you would find young Republicans working.

ditto. Even in white collar professions like engineering, airline pilots, college professors, teachers, nurses have unions....Why? Cause people abuse power ...Especially young Republicans with MBAs who have never worked an honest day, physical work, in their life...(i.e. W.)

I'm happy to stand in solidarity behind any group of people who are trying to make better lives for themselves. Though apparently in India I'd probably want to stand much further behind them than I would in Chattanooga.

Make biodiesel not war.

She actually will hurt the anit-war cause...in my opinion. The whole Hanoi Jane thing will really rally the Red-State W War supporters... Rush is having a field day. O'Really will too.... Jane please shut up and sit down... I don't think people can forgive her for what she did... I understand why...

She plans on handling dangerous people with talk and reason, right? It's the Film Actors' Guild way!

Maybe next she could organize a bus tour against Newton's 3rd Law. It'll be just about as effective.

Count me in. Good vibes and slogans always worked well against the NVA!

Look at the bright side...

The Fonda tour might motivate more of the "Red-State W War supporters" to actually ENLIST!

First time enlistment age has been raised to 42... any of you Dubya supporters out there considering it?

No? Ahh well, can't say I'm surprised.

She just needs to drive around the White House and keep asking Bush why we're in Iraq. Bush should have been able to come up with a good reason by now. On the other hand, nobody seems to care much. So, actually, why does Jane Fonda care? Why does anyone care?

The war doesn't actually cost that much. Very few Americans have been killed or injured and they all volunteered. We're all hung up on patriotism and blind fear of terrorism that we have no rational perspective on this Iraq war. So, who cares??? Besides me.

I frickin' care!

Your faithful scribe Gabe signed hisself up last year with the National Guard to be retrained as an Public Affairs specialist...this was a bad move on his part, as he used to be infantry, and for some reason, even though there's supposedly this overwhelming mandate supporting our prez-o-dent, they just can't seem to get anybody to join the Army, especially not the CA National Guard.

So they tried to dragoon me into a slapdash infantry unit and ship me to Iraq, but I said NO and things are kinda pending...

So who cares? We all should care. We either need to pull together as a nation and win this friggin' thing, or get the f$%# out, now.

So I have more respect for Hanoi Jane than I do for your average sub-42 year old Republican (beta male! I love that!) guy who wants to kill all those dirty A-rabs...just not enough to actually go do it himself.

Fight the war or end the war!
