Honda seems to be boycotting MO. Otherwise, why wasn't MO invited to ride the Rune like Dirck Edge? Check out the Rune review @ motorcycledaily.com.

Re: Honda is chicken shyt for not playing

I think for twins, the main differences are looser homogonization standards for special race-kit parts in WSB (which is why the US Ducatis run smaller throttle bodies) and the different fuel standards I mentioned. I think there is a slightly lower minimum weight as well.

Last year's AMA and WSB Hondas were reportedly very close in performance. Actually, from what I am told, the biggest difference was in tires and suspension. AMA has claiming rules that theoretically limit how much someone can spend of forks and shocks (that is you can spend as much as you want, but a competitor can claim them at a set price and you have to sell). As to tires, since Dunlop basically "owns" AMA racing, they don't have to give the AMA teams cutting edge stuff, like they do in WSB and GP. According to Nicky, the tires he ran in the WSB last year were much better than what he got for the AMA race.

My opinion is that if Ben had been winning regularly this season, his team would have found a way to run a competitive bike for him, and that still might happen. Seems like a lot of people in and out of the industry feel that they should.

Re: Whatever..

That is my point. The ongoing bad blood between Honda and MO is the reason MO didn't get a shot at the Rune.

You are going to see a lot of Rune reviews this summer. Are you going to assume every media outlet that gets a crack at the Rune is a patsy for Honda?
Re: Um, there were other more important points there too.

Longride, now I know why you're so well respected.

here is the point, s-p-e-l-l-e-d out for you.

Honda does not compete in WSB.

They do compete in AMA.

Last year, not only did they compete in both, they WON both.

They prefer to focus their energies in AMA.

Winning one race in a series they do not compete in is not worth the time or effort. Risking injury for a series one does not compete in is valueless to Honda.

Deal.

How can you say that they had their butts handed to them with the RC51 when they took the championship twice and second place in the championship once in three years of racing it in World Superbike? Not that I really like Honda all that much, but give credit where credit is due.

Re: Um, there were other more important points there too.

You make some excellent points. Yep people keep forgetting Colin Edwards won last years WSB title. Thanks
