Why would the FTC be against it? There are many motorcycle companies compared to oil companies (Exxon-Mobil, Phillips-Conoco, BP, etc) or computer operating software sellers (Microsoft, Sun, etc.)or Commercial Airplane makers.

If Honda buys Harley Buell is history.. Of course Honda could give it a proper V-Twin engine.. i.e. RC-51 or Super Hawk.. But I doubt that would happen..

LOL I just can't see it happening but life is stranger than fiction. Can you imagine the conversation that is going on in Motorcycle Heaven between Mr Honda and the HD founders. I doubt those guys would like this idea..

First Honda doesn't have to buy all of the stock.. They can buy a controlling interest. Which may be very small percentage. Also I didn't make this up note the highly respected news source...Also go look at Harley news on Yahoo..

Excellent Points.. I read somewhere that HD doesn't have any Gen X execs . So as a baby boomer dominated company I can see the attraction of the deal. i.e. guaranteed buyout.. i.e. Take the money and run.. move to Florida... and ride without a helmet
