Not bad. I can buy a Hayabusa and a ZX-14 plus have enough gas money to run both for 3 years for the cost of one 'high-performance' BMW. Nice.
Cycle World referred to the BMW effort at Daytona this year as "bringing a triplane to a Top-Gun competition." And you Beemerphiles reaching for the keyboard to say "they placed 5th and 6th," skip it. LR could place in that range on his Knucklehead if it didn't break and he didn't crash. I think the whole Daytona effort was a way to sell these HP2 ridiculously overpriced technology throwbacks.

They have a discount on the bags option. Only 3 grand for the 'high performance' ones. That doesn't include the mounts though, which will run you another $1500, and of course, they need to be installed at an Official Authorized BMW dealer for the discounted price of $2000 bucks. So for a mere $6500, you have a set of BMW bags. Nice.

Lessee.. my choices are a BMW HP2 or a Carbon Fiber Duck... hmmmm. I thought we were talking about performance bikes. What the heck kind of choice is that? Aside from a few extra wealthy Beemerphiles who the heck is going to opt for the worse performing $25K bike? For that matter I can get a Mille for far less and still take BMW to school.
