We have five of them in stock (four R and one S) and if anyone from MO would like to review them, you're welcome to come stay for however long it takes in Kansas City. We will supply you with both the R & S models for your edification.

We have a Factory Pro EC997 Eddy Current Dyno and an Inertia Dyno Jet (if you must use it) for your use as well. I have ridden the bike and the power is impressive. However, manufacturers crank HP and True HP (at the rear wheel) are always different (then there is DJ HP, which I won't get into right now) The brakes are okay and are getting better with the few miles we have on our demo.

We will upgrade one of these bikes soon with an exhaust, airbox mod (if required) and pipe (looks like a yosh will work) new brake pads, and of course the best Dyno Tuning on the face of the earth, then post all this stuff on our web site within the next 30 days at mapsp.com. You can call (816) 554-1766 and ask for Dan Prindle or Curtis Fisher if you want to know more about the bikes. We are upgrading our web site and should have photos and comments very soon.

Thanks,

Curtis Fisher

Re: Hyosung 125 & 250

Have you got one of those Hyosung 125 v-twins? Or the 250?

Would like to see a test on those too. I'll call Dan later today.

Re: Coming Soon: The MO Gang descends...

This is why I like MO. An offer is made for a ride review, you folks accept it the same day, and we'll be reading about it weeks before any of the print rags think about doing this story. Way to go! Van

Yes... that 250 twin might be interesting as a 250 Production class race bike going up against the little Ninjas... a very fun and inexpensive way to go to the track.

I could see that turning into a cult track bike like the Hawk or the SV650.

Sue for what? Making a competitive bike?

The very reason why Hyosung split with Suzuki (they used to build engines, including the SV650 motor, for Suzi) is that Suzuki put severe limitations on what the Koreans could make and where they could sell it (which, by the way, is understandable.) The Comet 650 models, including the engine, are aimed directly at the SV-650 but are not copies. The engine is similar--and fathered by the former-Suzuki egghead that penned the SV lump--but it is not the same. Some have even suggested that it might be superior to the SV. The chassis is very different in terms of construction and materials (steel for the Hyosung.) The Hyosung uses carbs as opposed to EFI. And they don't use identical third-party components like brakes and suspension.

So while they may appear similar and have the same mission, in detail, the two bikes are very different.

Re: Hyosung 125 & 250

I was reading some discussion on this before(racing the comet 250), I will look for the link.

The comet only has 5 gears, ninja has 6 and a higher top speed.

the comet is air cooled, ninja is water cooled.

I think there was also concern about tire size?

I will find the link and post back...

I am so proud of myself! I just got a bike review set up! (my wife however does not understand my excitement) MO RULES!

Still I am surprised that some of you do not like the headlights on the bike. Full fairing in red is sexy!

That Vince Motorcycle place that someone posted pictures on is right up the road and I am going to check them out tomorrow.

Personally I would buy it and take the company stickers off and drive it just to puzzle the hell out of other riders. My guess is that 90% would guess Italian.

I would expect some shabby details on the bike... its a dirt cheap Korean bike. Make it 5k and I would ignore bad LCD displays.

MO RULES!
