Ha! IIHS! Double Ha!

And I always knew that the IIHS is as prone to cook data to fit their agenda as those clowns at Consumer Reports.

Here's a prime example.

I find your lack of faith disturbing...

If the IIHS can find a causal (albeit weak) justification to condemn a class of vehicles as "unsafe" then naturally the rates to insure said vehicles can be raised. They are, after all, unsafe vehicles. Unsafe vehicles are more expensive to insure, as they are...unsafe.

Unsafeness is a sin. A sin that condenses in pools around the ankles of you motorcycle.com types.

Your ChoicePoint files- and those of your co-conspirators- will now be updated for questioning the great patriotic work of the IIHS.

Another black mark. If this is what we get for doubting the IIHS what's gonna happen because of our opinions about The Messiah(tm)?

Worry not, though you may have strayed. The Insurance Industry is known for its benevolence and leniency. Simply sign on to this program (currently being "tested" by the brave citizens of the State of New Jersey) and all will be forgiven...or at least pro-rated.

Tracking devices to cut car insurance rates - The Star-Ledger - Today's top news story - NJ.com

You will be monitored, but then again, you should be used to that by now. Even Mr. WristTwist himself (aka "Airhawk") may find salvation (at a competitive rate, no less!!!).

Get this quote:"This is definitely the wave of the future," said Loretta Worter, vice president of the Insurance Information Institute. "More and more companies are getting on board with tracking devices, seeing they offer a lot of advantages to consumers."

George Orwell would be proud. This voluntary program is soon to be mandatory. And the slaves will line up for it....

I, for one, welcome our new Insurance Industry Overlords.

You all need to stop resisting and put the collars on. They only chafe for the first few months.

This project is better for everyone. I understand that now.

The consumer can get more affordable insurance.
The insurer can better protect the bottom line.
The government can monitor with greater ease and self-reporting devices mean enforcement agencies can re-task to greater enforcement...efficiencies?
There are more carbons available to make useful things, like copies of the Greatest Hits of Air Supply CD.
Even the newts like this plan, and only fascists don't like newts.

What is not to like?
