idle problem

So I have a 2005 cbr 600rr... anyways I was riding around this weekend and came to a stop in gear holding in the clutch and noticed the RPMs stayed at about 3000. Normally they would drop to idle at about 1200 RPM. It now does this about 90% of the time. Now if i kick it into Neutral, it idles fine and will drop from ~3000.

Also, seemingly related... I used to be able to start the bike in gear, holding in the clutch (kickstand up). Now, sometimes I can't.

I was thinking maybe I needed to adjust my clutch cable, like it was partially engaged or something even when I have the clutch handle pulled all the way in... but if that were the case it seems like the bike would start to die if I pulled in the clutch while in gear at a stop.

Help!

Check the routing of your cables, sounds like something got pinched, or is mis-routed. Also, take a look at the condition of your air cleaners, make sure mice or ferrets haven't chewed holes in the paper element.

Haven't seen you post for a while Mr. Cuddy! Perhaps that distillation project is going a little too well?
