It's Official: MotoGP at Indy in 2008

Well, there will be no F1 at Indy next year but there will be a second MotoGP round in the US of A at the old brickyard. Red Bull is the title sponsor ("Red Bull Indianapolis GP") and it'll take place on September 14th, 2008.

The PR hacks have even trotted out Mario Andretti, who states that MotoGP is the most exciting of all motorsports, and none other than NASCAR's (Yawn...almost nodded off right there) Jeff Gordon who expresses his excitement about the event (wonder if his buddy CEII will even be in MGP by then).

There's a track layout map published on a couple of sites, but I was too lazy to retrieve it. It doesn't look too bad, actually. You're on you're own there. You'll find it soon enough.

Actually, on a side note, Jorge Lorenzo will be on a Yamaha M1 next season but not as Rossi's teammate. He'll have his own one-bike team funded by Fortuna, so there's a chance that Edwards might again be Valentino's sidekick.

I'll be there too! Last time I was a the Indy mile was the night that Roberts rode that TZ750 to that unbelievable win! That was a few years ago eh?
Pity me. 3 AMA flat track races for me this year and 2 of them are in NY. I do lead a charmed life. One of 'em I get to sleep in my own bed that night.

I personally feel responsible for the lack of flat track in NY. My last Syracuse Mile featured Graham, Scott, Filice, Springsteen, Shobert?, et al.....They used to run there and Hamburg. Now there is no more Mile. This year Vernon and Monticello.

Back in the good old days, I would hit Santa Fe twice a year, Springfield, Peoria, Columbus, Louisville, and Indy. Santa Fe was about 20 miles from my house. They had a short track and a TT every year there until it closed. I still get Springfield twice a year and Peoria, and they added Joliet recently. They had the DuQuoin mile for a while there too, but that is about 300 miles away even though it's in Illinois. Glad Indy is back in the schedule. Should be a great time.

You'll probably run into my ex and her new hubby on his RK, they live out that way and go to the Nascar races quite a bit. Don't imagine they'd miss a GP race.
Maybe they'll buy you a beer or something..
Any beatings you would like administered?? :-D

Just drink as much of his booze as you can get-away with.

I've a friend, who was somewhat "wild" in his younger days - one of his "conquests" at that time had a husband who was a Truck-driver.

When the Husband would go out on the road, he'd admonish her "I don't care who you got in yer bed when I'm gone - just don't let that sum-biotch drink my Beer!"

And she wouldn't, either.

So Wild Bill said to me, anyways.

Nah, they're decent folk. Besides, she put up with my sh*t for 15 years, I imagine she's suffered enough...
