It's kinda like the geologic time scale. I understand and can speak about it but comprehend the scope of time... 7 employee's in the garage you say.

Cuddy's garage probably has more charm.

I bet Cuddy's garage has more charm and he'll give you a frosty cold one to enjoy to boot.

I don't really understand it either. Some threads just seem to take on a different format, more so lately.

I've been using linear, thinking that the term would mean, oh never mind. I've switched over and will have to track down those threads that weren't working the way I thought they should. But first I'd better go clear the driveway, the plows have gone thru.

So to hijack this thread what bike is the least suseptable to corrosion caused by a variety of ice melt products.....Anybody seen the "beet juice" matrix used yet?

The bike least susceptible to corrosion is an old KZ750 rat bike. It's not that it doesn't corrode, it's just that you don't give a shyt.

Otherwise you are screwerd. Unless you know of a bike made entirely of stainless steel.

To a degree, corrosion has more to do with how the bike is stored and cared for than any particular make or model. I saw bikes of the same make, model, age, and mileage come in on trade at HD that were night and day in terms of corrosion. Washing, polishing, using good wax and stuff like Gunk and NeverDull to leave a layer of protection make all the difference. Even "stainless steel" only stains (corrodes) less.

I have to admit I'm a little envious of ol' Jay... I never cared for him or his blathering attempts and humor but he does have a mighty fine fleet there. Money well spent I'd say...

Going to The Rock Store in hopes of seeing him or some other personality?....I'll pass on that one thanks...

What? You don't want to spend every Sunday morning posing? Even in the 80's the Rock Store got old and passe'. I'll bet it's a real 3 ring circus now. The only thing nice about it was seeing some of the exotic Italian machinery a few riders had.

Great article...but I wanted more!

Like a list of all the bikes in Jay's collection. Wanted to see if some of the ones I have owned the past 44 years are in there. Also, one correction. The "Governeiger" of California does not get Secret Service protection. Usually plain clothes state police officers keep him safe.

Bullets just bounce off his tungsten combat chassis anyhow.

My favorite non-motorcycle verhicle is that '55 Buick Century with the 600 cubic inch B&M underhood blower and a real transmission, not that fountain-pump dynaflow greasy sleeve deal. Lucky bastard. I'm bidding on a '57 Century on Ebay motors, it's in So Cal so I can check it out before I buy it. Put some hand controls in it and I'm moble again...fifty seven was a bizzaro year for Bucks. That's the year the Dynaflow factory burnt down, and Buick had to use Caddy parts.

My favorite Buick was the '57 Roadmaster. One of my friends owned one in the late 60s. He cruised across Washington State from home to college at about 120, floating all the way.

Sachi, the Century was the Super body with the Roadmaster engine (364 cubic inch nailhead). This is the three window hardtop coupe. Each tailight asembly weighs at least 100 lbs. The '57 looks way beter than the '58, which coined the "Detroit Panic of 1958" legend because of the bizzare ugly cars.

Far as I'm concerned old cars are worth $75 bucks a ton at Zidell Ship Dismantling, they were junk when they were new and 40 or 50 years hasn't improved them. There are exceptions like '65 Impala's '69 Chargers and '67 Camero's...'71 240Z's... but the rest? put a bullet through the hood and sctrap them
