2004 ZX-10R vs R1 vs 1000RR vs GSX-1000 Article

What happened to that 2004 ZX-10R vs R1 vs 1000RR vs GSX-1000 article you guys were supposed to post. Plus I expect more then 2 or 3 articles of rehashed history artricles out of this site a month. If you can't find enough new motorcycles to test then how about testing some mods. How does the new 2004 XB12S Buell respond to the installation of the race kit? Can you hop up the new Honda Gold Wing? Come on guys, real articles real soon!

Please, Sean.....

For those doubters amongst us (and I am one), please recap all of the reviews of the past six months. And, please, tell us which of the reviews were submitted by the direct staff of MO, which were submitted by the illustrious European correspndent (Yossef Schvetz), and which were submitted by guest writers (i.e., readers). I just reviewed your website's Bike Review section, and I can only see where ten reviews are listed for all of 2003. By my math, that is less than 1 per month. And for that, you expect us to pay you a fee? C'mon.

Granted, you offer (what I call) an email bulletin board, and that's kinda ok. But, I am not willing to pay a fee for a bulletin board (especially one that allows KPaul to frequently assualt us with his ignorant and worthless political diatribe). If the board were (somewhat) moderated so that the postings stayed (somewhat) bike related, then maybe I would change my mind.

My account has expired, and I have no intent of renewing. Few and far between reviews, no attempt to keep this medium bike-related, and a general lack of professionalism just keeps me from renewing. You all can slam me if you want, but if you expect me to pay money for all of this, count me out.

I'm starting to regret renewing my subscription to MO. I can get news updates for free anywhere. I thought I was suupposed to get quality articles and "exclusive firsts" ? How about some more SuperMoto stuff? Like tests of the new KTM 625,525,and450 Supermotos?

What a shame...

I'm in the same boat as you. I subscribed for a year but when JB left this thing turned into amateur hour. MO was better when it was free (late 90's) than it is now. Does anyone work on this full-time anymore? Do the manufacturers take MO seriously anymore?

Same here. Was looking forward to the CBR GSXR comparo that was promised for Xmas '03. We're pushing the end of Jan. '04 with nothing in sight. Any article I send in gets no response, same with any question sent in. The archive of reviews is the strongest thing here, and as time goes on, it gets more and more stale.

Printed magazines cost about the same amount for a subscription, and actually have (gasp!) new articles every month. Shocking!

There was no sportbike comparo promised for Xmas. The comparison in question was about heavyweight cruisers which was delivered on time.

Wish I could agree with your thoughts on Peter Jones. Personally, I thought he only wrote one good article in his whole motojournalist career. It was the roadtest of the 1998 Honda VFR800 in the June 1998 issue of SPORT RIDER. Otherwise, I can't figure out which is worse: What he has to say or the insipid way he writes it. I figure the VFR was so damn good (I owned one), it seduced him into writing something way beyond his usual drivel. So, if you're gonna hire someone, Peter certainly wouldn't be my first choice. On the other hand, I too, just renewed my subscription and am disappointed in the lack of material puked out recently. Anything to get you folks off your collective duffs might be an improvement (must be be nice having a job where you can do what you want, when you want, and charge a bunch of suckers like us to support you). Guarantee you, unless there is a huge improvement mucho rapido, I won't be wasting my money next year. Onward and upward, dudes, you owe us far more than we're getting. The ball is in your court MO.....whadaya gonna do with it?

Where's the info?

Used to be all sorts of new (and interesting) stuff here. Not so much since Burns left.

The other parts of the site could be updated as well. There are some places that have been years without an update. Maybe there should be a place where members could post pictures, stories etc.

Check out www.harleydavidsonman.com for a bit of something from Alberta. He's got some interesting stuff here (i.e. it's your ass!)

Re: Services Rendered

Yeah!

Get off of your rapidly widening Krispy-Kreme eating secretarial duffs and earn all that subscription money you rake in.

Lessee, the most I have ever seen on the "Who's Online" counter is a little over 200, let's assume that was a little under half of the paid subscribers. Call it 500 members.

At $12 a year, that means you guys get $6000! $6000! You know what I could do with that kind of money? I could... well, I...

Hmmm.

Well, as Emily Latella said, "Never mind!"

Down With Pessimism!

I just renewed! OK, so MO has hit a bit of a rough spot. But there is still value here. If we all cry "the sky is falling" and fail to renew our memberships then MO WILL fail. I like this site too much, even in these content lean times.

But, having thrown my renewal money into the pot, I second the requests for more reviews of jackets, helmets, hop-up parts, etc. As has been pointed out, most of us buy a new bike only every few years, but we buy bike related goodies quite often. Shouldn't reviews show up in equal proportion?

Re: KPaul - This is a Motorcycle.Com, Not YOUR personal political email group.

He knows even less about motorcycles than he does about anything else.

You can join the "ignore KPaul group now!"
