I - like Justin Wilson - absolutely gaaarrrroooonnnnntttteeee that you'll find several folks who have tracked down and solved exactly the same intermittent situation that you experienced and are likely to experience again.
K-Whiners not as likely to toast a rear end as the newer bikes either.
