12 races and 300 more points up for grabs before the end of the season. Bayliss is only 59 points shy of his total from last season. Looks like Edwards will easily exceed Bayliss' total from last season as well.
From Edwards' comments last weekend, you get the feeling that he has resigned himself to second place--unless Bayliss suffers an injury or a rash of mechanical problems. It used to be that wet races were almost a gimme for Edwards, but Bayliss has matched his speed there as well (Silverstone, Lausitz qualifying).
Edwards and Bayliss are clearly racing at a different level than the rest of the pack. I hope that someone else steps up before the end of the year! Hopefully Ben can turn it on at Laguna.
