Last year they were talking about the dissolution of Superbikes because of competition from GPs. This year's battle is very close - even with Suzuki's complaints. Halfway through and it is anybody's game. Maybe a tough battle between two front runners might be more exciting... Maybe.



German food will be difficult for the Italians and the Japanese to stomach. I therefore predict a suprise win by Karl Hans on his privateer BMW GS1100R.

The food and booze issues certainly make it tough on Chili, Yanagawa and Bostrom.



The Brits, Aussies and and Texan are probably up to it though.



In all seriousness, this will test the rider/team/bike in terms of finding a good setup quickly. The Bike needs to have a large sweet spot (in other words, exactly opposite of the old RC45). The Team must be experienced and well funded. The Rider must be experienced and good at rapid developmental engineering.



Corser, Chili and Colin (in that order) have the advantages.
