I read your new title on Outlook, congratulations on the step up the ladder. I'm assuming it comes with a commensurate increase in your stipend? so new bike soon?

Anyway the new hires at HD don't get matching contributions to their 401k's which seems like the cheap shot in the whole deal. Seperate pay scales for new hires isn't new, niether are contributions to medical, I have Group Health for my family and it's $35 per month, or peanuts...

Part of our last contract was breaking IUOE away from IAM pay and bennies, which I thought was a good Idea. They were nothing but dead weight to us and we got a much better contract out of the deal. Some take aways but overall very favorable, we still had some guys pissing and moaning , wanting a strike and all but 6 figures and full bennies is fine by me. We told them pretty much the same thing, go somewhere else if you don't like it.

My squeeze and I own a Tanning and Nail salon. We pay our girls well over minimum and gave them a bonus at christmas. Good help is hard to find, our ace in the hole against corporate chains is our customer service and personal attention. So far we've done pretty well with it.

Why are you so down on unions? couldn't get in one? I've been a Journyman Union Operating Engineer for 27 years, have had steady employment, good pay and benifits and a pension. I put in at least 8 hours a day and am well payed for it.

Don't like it? maybe you'd feel better if you eat my sh!t, phuckin' scab.
