Re: You can get a new 2003 XB9S low for $6,999

If someone wants to take a chance on $7,000 then by all means. I bought a 99 ZX 11 D with 5,000 miles for $3,000. It will run circles around my old Lightning and I don't worry about getting stranded on it.

let me get this straight ...

you witnessed an intruder rider outgun a GSXR rider on a curvy road?

that, sir, is "Humiliation" (with a capital "H"). someone should remove the gixer rider from the gene pool before he begets more incompetence.

Re: That is cool and funny

I live on a winding road(at least for my area), and there are a lot of sport bike riders more than a little surprised when my Road King comes up behind them and they can't shake me. All comes from knowing the road and the bike (of course 97 hp and 95 ft lbs helps).

I want a Specific Answer

I want specific answers to specific questions, KPaul.:

Have you actually read the August 6, 2001 PDB?

Quote the language in the PDB which says airplanes will be used as missiles.

Quote the language in the PDB which says these multiple hijackings will occur on September 11 (as opposed to any day on any month in any year).

Quote the language in the PDB which says the airplanes will be hijacked by Saudi nationals using box cutters.

If you cannot quote this language, what specific actions would you have taken which would have reduced the likelihood that hijackers would use airplanes taking off from Boston as missiles against office buildings?

Now justify those actions based on the information in the PDB.

Finally, tell me where you get your drugs.

Yes it is still his fault. Connect the dots: Bin Laden, Washington, NY, hijacking....

Yes I read it.

I think the below convers you idiotic defense i.e. the memo lacked specificity also I printed the memo out down below with my bold emphasis. It's public domain finally.

"Condoleeza Rice made a big deal about not having "actionable" intelligence about dates and locations of suspected terrorist actions. As many have pointed out, if actionable intelligence of threats came with dates, times and Mapquest directions there wouldn't be much need for a National Security Advisor. But if this article is confirmed, then the American people have sufficient evidence to conclude that the Bush administration can't recognize actionable intelligence until it's delivered via jet airliner into the side of a building"

Bin Laden Determined To Strike in US

Clandestine, foreign government, and media reports indicate (Osama) Bin Laden since 1997 has wanted to conduct terrorist attacks in the US. Bin Laden implied in US television interviews in 1997 and 1998 that his followers would follow the example of World Trade Center bomber Ramzi Yousef and "bring the fighting to America".

After US missile strikes on his base in Afghanistan in 1998, Bin Laden told followers he wanted to retaliate in Washington, according to a ...(edited)... service.

An Egyptian Islamic Jihad (EIJ) operative told a ... (edited) ... service at the same time that Bin Laden was planning to exploit the operative's access to the US to mount a terrorist strike.

The millennium plotting in Canada in 1999 may have been part of Bin Laden's first serious attempt to implement a terrorist strike in the US.

Convicted plotter Ahmed Ressam has told the FBI that he conceived the idea to attack Los Angeles International Airport himself, but that Bin Laden lieutenant Abu Zubaydah encouraged him and helped facilitate the operation.

Ressam also said that in 1998 Abu Zubaydah was planning his own US attack.

Ressam says Bin Laden was aware of the Los Angeles operation.

Although Bin Laden has not succeeded, his attacks against the US Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998 demonstrate that he prepares operations years in advance and is not deterred by setbacks.

Bin Laden associates surveilled our embassies in Nairobi and Dar-es-Salaam as early as 1993, and some members of the Nairobi cell planning the bombings were arrested and deported in 1997.

Al-Qaeda members - including some who are US citizens - have resided in or travelled to the US for years, and the group apparently maintains a support structure that could aid attacks.

Two al-Qaeda members found guilty in the conspiracy to bomb our embassies in East Africa were US citizens, and a senior EIJ member lived in California in the mid-1990s.

A clandestine source said in 1998 that a Bin Laden cell in New York was recruiting Muslim-American youth for attacks.

We have not been able to corroborate some of the more sensational threat reporting, such as that from a ... (edited)... service in 1998 saying that Bin Laden wanted to hijack a US aircraft to gain the release of "Blind Sheikh" Omar Abdel Rahman and other US-held extremists.

Nevertheless, FBI information since that time indicates patterns of suspicious activity in this country consistent with preparations for hijackings or other types of attacks, including recent surveillance of federal buildings in New York.

The FBI is conducting approximately 70 full field investigations throughout the US that it considers Bin Laden-related.

The CIA and the FBI are investigating a call to our embassy in the United Arab Emirates in May saying that a group of Bin Laden supporters was in the US planning attacks with explosives.

KPaul, You Ignorant ****

You only answered my first question. You can't answer the others because (1) specific, actionable intelligence simply isn't in the PDB, and thus you cannot quote from it, and (2) you have no clue as to what specific actions someone reading the PDB on 8/6 could have taken before 9/11 which would have prevented or reduced the possibility of that particular attack from occurring. Hindsight is 20/20. Try reading the PDB without it.

Once again, I want a specific answer - What specific actions would you have taken which would have reduced the likelihood that hijackers would use airplances taking off from Boston as missiles against office buildings? No diatribes, please, just answer the question with specific action points.

Re: test ride! :)

Because the Honda is still a better all around ride than the triumph is... that ifintesimal amount of better handling and admititdly better suspension does not prove to make the speed 4 a better street bike.

Lap times are hardly going to matter to this guys wife IMO...

Dear George and Connie and Yamahaha, KPaul for President

I Osma Bin Laden will attack the U.S. on 9/11/01. My followers will take highjack airplanes and fly them into targets in NY and Washington. I invite you to watch.

RSVP

Your sworn enemy

Osama

P.S. I don't work for Sadam.

Does the above qualify for specific, actionable intelligence? Your argument is weak Yamahaha

As commander in chief I would of directed the CIA director to form a task force with the FBI and NORAD. To plan for possible hijackings by Bin Laden targets being Washington and NY. Another memo told me about the plan to use planes as missles. I know you think I am absurd, but if this memo hit my desk after the Cole bombing etc. That is what I would of done. Also I have seen the movie Executive Decision :) Doesn't take a genius to figure out that if you take a fully loaded 767 and fly into a building it makes a big noise. Its nothing new using planes a bombs.

Re: For those of you who insist on defending Bush on the August 6 memo (PDB)

I worked for the ATF in 1994 and that year there was over 500 terrorist bombings. None of them were even considered national news. None of them outside the ATF were called anything other than murder. They were terrorist, and lots of them were by foreign nationals. So why now have we started to wake up and call them terrorist? At least now we have started to do something? It took the deaths of 3500 people to wake you all up! They even attacked and killed our soldiers during WWII in every Muslim country including the Phillipines. For over 60 years our Embassies have been receiving information about attacks, and US citizens being murdered. So you're now going to start paying attention and pointing the finger. Wake up people!! Go back to school, or get out into the 10-40 countries and look for yourselves. They want to kill you. They've been doing it for years.

Come on. B.S.

"I worked for the ATF in 1994 and that year there was over 500 terrorist bombings" No way. Sorry not buying that.

Also most Muslims don't hate us. Go to the Middle east like I have. I spent several months in Israel. I traveled to Egyt, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan. You would be suprised how the Palistinians will be friendly to Americans (more friendly than Jews sometimes). You are quoting ignorant Rush bull shyt. IT IS NOT BLACK AND WHITE OR SOME KIND OF HOLY WAR

My girlfriend is 5'3" tall 105 lbs and owns a 03 Buell XB9 Lightning (low). She had the same problem with other bikes...either the seat height was to high or the weight of the bike was too much for her to handle. She put on about 3500 miles last summer and hasn't had any mechanical problems to date. I ride a 03 Honda Super Hawk VTR1000 and find the Buell to be a bit rough by comparision. It shifts rather hard and the non-hydraulic cluch lever is much to stiff to pull with only two fingers. When we ride together all day, she complains of a sore left hand from all the effort needed to pull in the clutch. I tried to talk her into buying a SV650 or a Ducati Monster 620 but she's related to the Davidson family and needed to be loyal to the family. We took a vacation to Mexico over the winter and rented Ducati Monsters...She spend a day riding the 620 and loved how easy the cluch lever worked. I also can't understand why the bike is so expensive...if it was me I'd buy the Ducati or SV and I live in Milwaukee, WI home of the Buell!

Resale is nothing to brag on either, they don't resell so dealers don't want'em. At the cost you end up upside down for so long that if you burn out, you're stuck...
