let me get this straight, 'cause i'm scratching my head over this one.

the story here is that there is no story? surely there are stories that ARE stories that can be published. a road test of the buell ulysses, for instance, or at least acknowledgement that it exists. it is rocking the world according to all pubs but this one.

It is still August. Quality takes time. It is job One at MO. Unlike some of those other sites that litter the airwaves with baseless errata and, ah, motorcycles and stuff we really don't care about. Hey I know let's discuss helmet laws...who wants to go first?

Helmets are stupid. You can't see well with them, they block your hearing and if you fall in the water they drag you down head first like a concrete Yarmaluk.

If you have to wear one you need one of those little round beanie ones so they don't get in the way of your riding, plus you can hear yer' *****in' ass straight pipes better when you leave fer work @ O' Dark-30.

Helmets are for nancy's.

agrreed. If god had intended us to wear helmets he would've made our heads like an octopus's. I'll wear a helmet when they pry my cold, dead fingers from it. No, wait, that's not right is it...

It's a conspiracy!

Lil do we realize that helmets really are amplifyers for the alien's signals that make us all fear anything dangerous. Pretty soon, we'll be driving padded cages that top out at 15mph (HS crashes are deadly), we'll ban guns (people can get hurt from those things), and boards with nails (they could poke an eye out), so we'll be ripe for invasion and can't runaway!

Really is a case of not knowing weither to laugh or cry.

I gotta say, if they ever come for mine, I'll be happy to open the door for them.

Hard to aim accurately through the door afterall.

I couldn't give a crap about another crotch rocket where 95% of the owners can use 95% of it's abilities.

When is MO going to review some more supermoto bikes? The Suzuki DRZ-400SM has been out for over a year now and still not a peep on this daily rider SM.

I want supermoto, standards, dual sports not poser bikes. I have been dying to read a review of the Suzuki forever now.

A 600 Four is what you want in a streetbike. I've got one, and boy, it's cool having that top-weighted powerband so all the horsepower is on tap past 7,000 rpm. Really makes those trips to the corner store entertaining. BWAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Sigh...

I like my Bandit, but I shoulda bought an SV650. Torque is your friend on the street.

Maybe 1000 Fours aren't so dumb after all - there's no law that says you have to wind it out. Just enjoy the power down low.

But it's a Twin next time.

God, you're an illiterate a-hole.

Where did I say that my Bandit is faster than a repli-racer? I compared it - along with other 600 Fours, including yours - to Twins and liter-bikes for torque. Learn how to read.

And here are the numbers:

ZX-6R - peak torque 44 ft/lbs @ 10,300.

SV-650 - peak torque 47 ft/lbs @ 7,000.

At 4,000 rpm, the SV has 30 ft/lbs. At 5,000, 37 ft/lbs.

At 4,000 rpm, the ZX-6R has 25 ft/lbs. At 5,000, 30 ft/lbs.

I eagerly await your nonsensensical, non-sequitur reply. Or you can keep pulling your pud and benchracing me in your mind.

Make that "nonsensical." Then again, kook might merit the extra syllable.
