I don't understand why more people don't ride the big scoots in mediterranean climes like SoCal. O, gas used to be so cheap why bother. i fear those days are done.

I'd like to see an automatic and a similar model conventional gearbox sport bike style scooter/moped with their small displacement. I think it'd be nice to have an economical sporty-styled moped/scooter that doesn't have the funky suspension and also has brakes/riding position like the regular type motorcycle that it is modeled after.
Imagine a Honda 49cc or 80cc sport bike styled auto or optional manual, or some of the other manufacturers do something similar (215 lbs, anyone?). Eh, and maybe Suzuki and Honda could put some of their 400/250 or 600/650 autos into GSX-R/SV or CBR/Interceptor frames.
Eh, I'd still rather have a conventional motorcycle or something that has performance and gas mileage, like a Buell. But if something economical and light weight and cheap came out I'd be interested in at least trying it out.

One of the local Polaris dealerships had a few wierd things they'd imported from China that might fit the bill. I can't remember what it was called, but it looked like a cross between a mountain bike and a dual-sport, with scooter type controls and a CVT transmission.
