Re: More on Yamaha

Let's hope that some of that technology trickles down to street bikes. That's the number one appeal - from a consumer standpoint - to four stroke GP bikes.

Re: More on Yamaha

Howcome the announcement did not mention John Kocinski?! Since he was hired (and acknowledged by Yamaha) to develop the bike, right?!
Re: More on Yamaha

Where is the open bike shootout?
Re: More on Yamaha

I know there are regulations about the racers not being based on street machines, but does it work the other way and how strict are the rules? Where does one draw the line on what has been copied?
Re: More on Yamaha

Is this just press release regurgitation? Did MO write any of this? What a load.

4 stroke GP has nothing to do with technology trickling down to street bikes. We already have Superbike and if you want to imagine trickle down exists, go ahead.

The only difference between Superibike and 4 stroke GP is who owns the series. Period.
Re: More on Yamaha

Here's a pic to download for you guys of the new M1. Enjoy.

Right On Brotha!!

I strongly agree. And besides, what the hell does anyone need a faster bike than the current crop of GSX-R1000's & R1's for anyway? I've seen countless numbers of squids riding these bikes who have no business on them. Just what we need, 200 horsepower, 300 lbs. street legal road missiles for all the posers to do 150 mph standup wheelies on. Great.
WHERE IS OUR OPEN BIKE SHOOTOUT!!!

While we are on the subject of GP to Street technology, where the hell is our OPENT BIKE SHOOTOUT we were promised last friday!!!
Re: More on Yamaha

That thing looks down-right evil! And I mean that in a good way. And I bet it sounds pretty cool with that skinny pipe.

I'm looking forward to next year when the 4 strokes can compete. Now I just have to find a way to get my stupid cable company to carry Speedvision...
Where is the movie?

I saw a movie of this thing in action on another web site. Will my post get deleted if I put a link of the movie here?
Re: Where is the movie?

no. your post will not get deleted.
Re: Where is the movie?

You can e-mail the link to us and we can post the movie for everybody, too...
Re: More on Yamaha

There are several important distinctions between SuperBike and GP 4-strokes.

1) Weight limits

2) Manufacturing content

The weight limits for GP 4-strokes is considerably less than for SuperBikes.

The engines/transmissions must not be derived from engines/trannies currently in manufacture.

What this is is a series for the 3/4/5 cylinder 4-strokes to hide from the 2 cylinder SuperBikes.

I don't really think we need more HP or less weight than the R1/GSRX1000 for road use. But if someone is there to buy it--Hey, its a free country!

Re: Where is the movie?

How dare you tease us with a movie of this new Yamaha in action. Post I say! Post!

[email protected] email if you don't want to post.
Re: More on Yamaha

I believe he had one ride and from that Yamaha is going to decide if they want to continue using Jon for development.
Re: More on Yamaha

MO keeps deleting my post, I just wanted to know where the open class shootout was.... Dang!!!
Re: More on Yamaha

My posts are constantly being deleted too! Why doesn't MO have a policy so our feedback can be objectively acceptable or not?

Censorship sucks, but subjective, arbitrary and capricious censorship is totally unacceptable.

If MO's policy is to allow only posts they like, they should state that policy so people know what they're reading and what it's worth.
censored!

Yeah, what gives? The MO Gesttapo? If my messages keep getting deleted, I won't take the time to write relevant comments or ask reasonable questions and very soon, you won't find any thing here but dribble that the editors find flattering!
Re: More on Yamaha

"Mission #1" my ass. The M on the bike is made with four strokes of the brush.
