Buy and hitch up a motorcycle trailer. Install a 200 watt per channel stereo system with 18" woofers. Bolt a thump-thump speaker to the bottom of the trailer. Use deep cell batteries and an inverter for power - this should last several hours between charges.

Turn it way up.

Play only "Ted Nugent - Double Live Gonzo" and "Talking Heads - Life During Wartime".

Mine skips all the time when the road gets washboardy. Nothing has solved it - rubber bands, torsion bars, fat bottomed girls, enchiladas wrapped in pickle sauce - nothing.

You're on your own.

Worse than that. You can't even wear a personal stereo in LA even if you are merely a pedeatrian. One person got hit by a car while listening to a stereo so in typical fashion the city council banned the things. Sieg Heil!

Have you priced a stylus lately? Murder! I hope my old stylus lasts long enough to finish my LP to MP3 project. Only 200 more vinyls to go!

Old Peter Frampton albums make great skeet!

You should see what a .223 does to a Gordon Lightfoot 8 track tape too.

Re:

My old Sansui turntable goes through my old Sansui amplifier (all bought in Yokosuka in 1970) which then patches into my Sound Blaster 128. I then use the software that came with the SB128 to crunch it into WAVs. Then you can digitally process out the clicks and pops and convert to MP3 or whatever. It takes a bit of experimantation to get all the levels right.

I don't use Kazaa because I don't wish to be absorbed by the Borg.

MC5 Live (Kick Out The Jams, Mutherfukkers) does the trick too. Or maybe the very first Black Sabbath album (My Name is Lucifer, Please take My Hand) creates the desired commotion as well.

Re:

I've still got my old reel-to-reel Dokorder tape deck also.

Too weird. Maybe he flew the freedom bird that carried me back from Danang to Norton AFB. It was a flying Tiger charter.

This is like the twilight zone. Maybe the next time I fly I'll see KPaul climbing on the wing outside the plane, but instead of screwing with the engine he'll be carrying a "Kerry for President" sign.
