Not to sound too typical, but I prefer the resonating sounds of AC/DC's "Highway to Hell", "Shoot to thrill", Foghat's "slow ride", Sammy Hagar's "I can't drive 55", and of course, Motley Crue's "kickstart my heart" and "girls, girls, girls". P.S. with 200 watts coming from the subthrobulator behind me, how will I know if the "b*@ch" fell off?

Re:

My old Sansui turntable goes through my old Sansui amplifier (all bought in Yokosuka in 1970) which then patches into my Sound Blaster 128. I then use the software that came with the SB128 to crunch it into WAVs. Then you can digitally process out the clicks and pops and convert to MP3 or whatever. It takes a bit of experimantation to get all the levels right.

I don't use Kazaa because I don't wish to be absorbed by the Borg.

MC5 Live (Kick Out The Jams, Mutherfukkers) does the trick too. Or maybe the very first Black Sabbath album (My Name is Lucifer, Please take My Hand) creates the desired commotion as well.

My father was an airline pilot for Flying Tigers. He also bought (way too much) Sansui and TEAC stuff in Japan and Bangkok in and around 1970. As a kid, I used to love it when he would play his 4-track reel-to-reel recordings from the Reno Air Races. The system was soo powerful that the neighbors used to run into the street and stare at the sky. -Sean

Re:

If I send you some of my OLD Irish and Liverpool folk music will you do mine?, Probably 4 LP's total, I would be profoundly happy to cover any costs you incured.

When my kids saw my collection they said "cool dad, giant CD's" I have a bunch of Beatles, Jethro Tull, Deep Purple, Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Rolling Stones LP's, but the the only ones I value are my old Brit. and Irish folksies.

Re:

I've still got my old reel-to-reel Dokorder tape deck also.

Too weird. Maybe he flew the freedom bird that carried me back from Danang to Norton AFB. It was a flying Tiger charter.

This is like the twilight zone. Maybe the next time I fly I'll see KPaul climbing on the wing outside the plane, but instead of screwing with the engine he'll be carrying a "Kerry for President" sign.
