I know we like to joke about Harleys being underpowered, but it's a relative thing. You can pick up a Dyna Glide from the dealer with a couple of Screaming Eagle addons that give it more power than performance bikes of not too many years ago. The original CB750, while outdated by today's standard's never made as much power as a lightly modified Dyna. And no one with half a brain would call a CB750 slow, even today. It'll still shred most any cage you can name. And it weighted almost as much as a Dyna.

The Dyna weighs a lot and it'll get you in real trouble awful fast if you're not careful.. as will any modern bike. And it's more likely he was stooging around on a softail. Big mistake for a newby. The guy might still be alive today if he'd taken a year to get experience on a GS500 or another smaller bike. Too bad these overgrown adolescent's egos require them to act so stupidly. Not enough respect for the sport. Afraid of being laughed at by other Rub idiots.

I heard that the Pentagon was going to contract Kpaul to take over the interrogations of al-Qaeda prisoners but that the International War Crimes tribunal found out and squelched it on humanitarian grounds. The Pentagon was going to have him moderate the prisoners as they were forced to engage in political bulletin boards and chatrooms.

Nothing worse than sleep deprivation, chinese water torture, keelhauling or drawing-and-quartering are allowed under International Law. So, giving tham a "Kpauling" is forbidden.

I don't know who originally wrote it but I have the following sign on my cubicle:

Hey, the point is that some newby runs out and buys a Harley and then they often bolt a bunch of Screaming Eagle stuff on and then they get themselves in serious trouble. 70HP is more than enough to get someone in hot water really fast regardless of the displacement or how old the design is or any other arbitrary consideration. Especially on a bike as heavy as a Harley.

Just because an R1 may get 140HP doesn't mean that 70HP doesn't have serious danger potential. Most people kill themselves off at far less than 100 mph.

No he's not a liberal. He just votes for them, stumps for them and supports their social, fiscal and foreign policies.

But he's not a liberal.

Re: now to wax philisophic

One of the closest things to a rugged individualist would probably be a mountain man of the early 1800s. Of course, he had to sell his beaver pelts to someone and buy gunpowder and supplies from someone else.

Re: Does this make me a liberal? Or is George Bush a true Republican/Conservative?

Because if the govt forces all businesses to give out 5 weeks paid vacation then hundreds of thousands of people will get laid off and we'll end up like Europe with 20+% of the people unemployed.

P.S. Bush is not a conservative.

I read that unemployment amongst people under 25 in France is something like 25%. I wonder what the unemployment figures are in various countries when broken down by age groups. Of course France has its own unique problems - apparently they shut their whole country down every year for no particluar reason.

What I do know is that about 6 months a go I had a tooth get abcessed and woke up in serious pain on a Monday morning. I called my dentist and got an 8 AM appointment, had a root canal and was off to work by 9:30 AM. I'm glad I didn't have to wait several days like they do in England or Canada.
