You are an idiot. The V-Max is about power. This is about styling and engine character, not about power- otherwise, they would have made it a giant V-4 or something else. This is in no way, shape, or form the successor to the V-Max. It is closer to a Buell.

You won't see a single person trade in their V-Max for this any more than they would for a Buell.

By the way, if your precious British bike mags had done ANY type of fact checking, they would see that the V-Max did not cease production in January. They just stopped importing them to the U.K. Unfortunately they're too busy drinking tea and testing teh GSX-R600 in three issues in a row to take five minutes to look at Yamaha U.S.'s website to see the '05 V-max.

Sort of both, actually. I live in SoCal (I just moved from Orange County to the 909) but I'm originally from Chicago, and I go back there often enough to visit family that I could almost still be a resident.

Yeah, it's pretty fricking hot out here. I snuck a peek at the Weather Channel website yesterday and it was hotter than Death Valley by about 3 degrees.

On the upside, I work closer to the ocean, so I'm not there in the daytime when it's at its worst.

Yup, that about covers it for SoCal. The only one you forgot is what happens when it rains. One third pf the people are confused and slow down to 20mph because they forgot that water can fall from the sky, and the second third are scared and just drive faster because they are afraid their cars will melt like the Wicked Witch of the West. The remaining third just drive normally and try to dodge the other 2/3.
