now to wax philisophic
some semi famous economist or philosopher said that life was nasty, brutish and short.
when we read about somebody dying on a bike we need to convince ourselves, it wouldn't happen to us. because we are smarter, better trained and just generally superior in most ways to the deceased. i don't think that's true. i think if it happened to anybody it can happen to me. or you.
make the best of your time. be aware. enjoy the ride while it lasts.
come to think of it it was probably some philosopher. all i learned from econ 101 i learned on the first day. the prof asked, "what does everybody want?" some guy in the back room, without hesitation yelled, "good women at reasonable prices". suddenly, i had a philosophy.
