Stupid is as stupid does.

Because of @$$holes like this the rest of us have to deal with draconian anti-wheelie laws and such. These guys are the enemies of serious motorcyclists. Unfortunately I can't think of a cure for this that is legal right now.
The wife and I were in OC on Saturday looking at a (gasp) mini-van for me, and while driving down the 57 freeway some dope on a gixxer must have seen the Buell & CZ stickers on the rear window of the Element, and decided to show us his "stuntin" capabilities by whooshing by us, hanging both legs off the clutch side of the bike, and like something you'd do on a horse, bounced his feet off the ground and hopped his legs to the other side of the bike, all at 65+ mph.

Well it didn't work out so good for this stuntah', as he almost ate it big and got into a big tank-slapper for a few hundred feet before regaining a feeble amount of control back, and immediately exited the freeway out of embarassment.

I'd hate to be torpedoed by a gixxer. What started this insane fad? Some lemming-like penchant for self destruction? Over population? Bad genes?

Not sure if its sheer stupidity or what. I think its just a way to top past generations on how crazy they can get?

Just remember what our parents used to think on how crazy we were and what we did. Not baacking them up in anyway.

Funny thing is all that stuff they practice and practice only gets them into trouble not out of trouble. Kids whatcha gonna do?
Buz, are you refering to the DKW's you thumbnailed in, or the CZ? I have to agree with the DKW's being piles, but the mighty CZ was THE BIKE TO HAVE back in '73.

Were Sachs and DKW the same thing?

This dude's Sachs 125 two stroke was about as fast as my XR75 4 stroke (when it was actually running and not catching on fire. The front fork alone outweighed my whole motorcycle!

Buell promotes stunting, as does BMW and now Kawasaki is getting on board. He was just showing off because of your stickers for sure, and obviously it worked because you are writing about it! Not sure how you get a tank slapper at 65mph on a gixxer...seeing they all have fairly nice dampners that come stock.

Anyways, the speed limit on 57 is...well it doesnt really matter cause the AVERAGE speed is 75. I am sure the posted limit is 60 give or take 5mph. So the whole "Whoosh" by you at such speeds after saying he was going 65....makes me wonder how slow you were actaully going under the speed limit.

I see you are a moderator, so I guess rather then seeing your faux pas I am sure I will get banned for "personally attacking" you or something bogus.

Also stunting on public roads is completly retarded and stupid, but wishing these people died and blaming them for insurance raises are just as retarded. Cell phone deaths cause almost the same ammount of death as motocycles, and to the "jap bike" fame most fatalitys are from bikes over 1001 cc's. Japanese bikes only have 3 models that size, where Harley and "other" custom bikes, it is obviously the majority.

SO please, I just posted that to show what a crazy clip was caught on film, not to bash anyone for doing it. If you can't understand by VIEWING the video clip of the Adrenaline Crew motorcycle wreck, then you shouldn't own a bike!

Also oddly enough even though people blame Japanese bikes for most of the issues, it is a fact that the average age of death on a motorcycle is 38 now by Home | National Highway Traffic Safety Administration(NHTSA) | U.S. Department of Transportation and I don't think many 40 year olds give gsxrs....

Talk about an ax to grind...

When I grind an axe I don't. I use a file and file away from myself and then finish up with a stone.

Stunting by manufactures is a sales tool. Cause people who stunt on public roads, like people who race on public roads, are tools. You may be one too.

Public stunting is generally accepted as the latest scourge to ruin motorcycling. Closely followed by loud pipes. There are quite frankly different standard on different forums. I'll post up the local 'stuna website for you when I get home from work. You may find it more to your liking. Or you can chill for a bit and get to know the forum a little better, you may find something you like here, or not.

You got the wrong forum if you are looking to get banned. As long as you don't threaten people or post racist crap or do anything else illegal you won't have any problems here. This is a true free speech zone.

Nah, we just think you're an idiot.
Every one of this guys posts have been flogging stunta videos in one way or an other, I'm not sure what kind of response he expects to get from us with this sort of thing. Personally I think there are other web sites that would be more to his liking as we tend to focus on actual riding more than glorifiying d*ckhead behavior.

His IP address puts him in the LA area so at least this isn't another Kook attack. I don't mind the entertainment.

On another note, replacing the single piston calipers on the '80 GL1100 with dual-piston calipers from the '82 GL1100 makes an amazing difference in reduced sponginess and now I don't need Popeye forearms to stop the bike. Now if I could just find a way to put some brakes from a Zrex on there.......

Do you still have the stock Expand-o-Matic brake lines? That's where half your braking squeeze is most likely going.

Anyway chicks dig those big Popeye forearms..

I put SS lines on before I replaced the calipers. Those old slugs just couldn't cut it, even after rebuilding, so I took a chance and got '82s off of ebay and lo and behold they fit perfectly. That's change I can believe in!

You're a funny guy. That's a somewhat uninformed statement, don'tcha think?

Now, if you'd used a MUCH higher number - say, Longride or sarnali's ages rather than an age I'm rapidly approaching, I might be inclined to believe you................
Actually cell phones cause far more deaths than motorcycles, as many as alcohol, but since most people use cell phones while driving including the people who make the laws you're more likely to see horsepower limits and outright bans on high-performance bikes than cell phone bans. It's about political influence. So every time you terrify some blue hair, her and her friends write letters to their representatives demanding that "something be done". Since not two dozen stunters across the entire nation bother to vote imagine who will win the political battle.
