They've been incredible astute so far, why in the world they would want MV is beyond me as well. From what I hear Buell does pretty well in Europe, it would be nice to see Harley push that line as their sport bike instead of treating them like a red-head stepchild
I don't think you'd go wrong with either one. From my own experiance the V Strom has more room if that's an issue, the Uly definately feels compact but they're both fun as hell to ride. My last go-round was down to the Uly, V Strom or 'Lectra-glide. The "salesman" at the Suzuki joint was some snot-nose who was too busy drooling over the in-house barrista to help me, the Uly was cool but felt a little cramped so the FLHT won on comfort, wind protection and bags..

I wouldn't turn my nose up at a used Buell for a play bike.
