CPSC Spells Out Enforcement Policy For New Lead Limits In Children's Products Effective February 10
This rule, which went into effect February 10th, effectively outlaws the bikes and ATVs built for kids 12 and under. The AMA has already sent the CPSC a letter -
AMA letter to CPSC regarding OHV lead content
If you feel like piping up, send a letter to the CPSC, or to your Congressperson(s) to protest.

We can thank the helmet law supporters for this. Even though the enforcement of this rule is completely insane the govt is going through with it.

I bet all those companies that make Power Wheels and knock offs are going to be happy about this.
Most Chinese knock offs are the vehicles that spawned this crap. And the only reason we have probably 15 mini bikes that we cant sell.

And from what I've read about the CPSC - they cannot penalize a manufacturer for making lead-shot-filled melamine-laced baby rattles, but can send the Mal-Wart store Manager to jail for selling them..............
THAT is reason enough for most Moto Dealers to pull everything from the showroom floor.

First you guys make me read up on the CRA amendment of 95 and now I have to reread this? Since I'll be passing thru O'Hare twice in the next 3 days I'll take the book with me, yes it was in the same room as the tool boxes thank you very much....deToqueville...
By the way I'm not so sure anymore that that 95 thing is so much at fault as what some human vices did.
