You're talking like there might be a conspiracy. We all know that talk of conspiracy is completely paranoid and that the govt never acts at the behest of private businesses. The NTSB is lily white clean and incorruptible... just like the Defense Industry and the Military or the FDA and the American Medical Association.

I never worry when they are out to get us. I worry when they are out to save us from ourselves. I think they have much bigger problems than motorcycle helmet laws.

You know that the goal of politics is to appear to be "doing something" while actually ensuring that the status quo is left undisturbed. I mean if we took action to actually reduce crime for example where would all those cops and judges find jobs? Picking on motorcyclists is a tailor made campaign that will win votes while leaving 99% of people undisturbed, fat and happy while lying on their couches and wolfing down deadly fast food thus reducing the welfare rolls..... now where's the Reynolds Wrap?

You can't legislate stupidity out of people. I would not ride without a helmet regardless of the law. I don't see this any different than passing seat belt laws or speed limit laws. There are dozens of laws to protect us from our own stupidity. I don't think my rights have been violated when they pass a law that says I have to do something that I should have been doing anyway.

One square of toilet paper per visit for you!

I'll bet this fine perspective of yours will go right out the f'ing window the minute "they" pass a law that says you have to do something you don't think you should have been doing anyway.
