To qualify as retro shouldn't the item be (at the very least) old? 90's aren't old- are they?

Handlebar conversions here.

You can get headlights and brackets from the people who supply them for choppers. It's going to take some ingenuity.

Go 10 teeth over on the rear sprocket. Yum yum Vmax tartare.

By the way I am in self imposed exile from MO for awhile till the GPTB Wild Weasels settle down.. This one-eyed pigeon is tired of being stalked and pecked to death....Think seruzawa has a good link posted on handle bars. But I've got a question? You got something against fairings? I think putting on helibars on a GSXR or RI is what I would do. I don't need to on my Ninja since it is 01 version. That year which had ergos like a VFR. I like fairings cause it easy to clean and keeps the muck off a ya..

Those are the special edition ones that show her from the back, doggie style, or from the front, in a comfortable reclined position........

Or was that my imagination.......?

I have built two bikes like that out of wrecked sportbikes.

For a cheap alternative for a handlebar conversion, get these handlebar clamps from Rocky Mountain MC:

You can also get cheap aluminum handlebars from them, too:

Just drill a couple of holes in the top triple clamp, and you're in business.

Aftermarket cruiser oriented shops usually keep a lot of braided steel line components to extend the clutch and brake lines. You can get longer throttle cables, if needed, from similar standard or cruiser style bikes from the same manufacturer. Try your local junkyard.

I make my own headlight array from driving lights I get from Wal Mart.

I also found this when I googled "streetfighter motorcycle":

Post pics when you're done!

Just get a Bandit 1200.

The only work you'll have to do on it is upgrade the suspension - which you'd have to do anyway on an old GSXR or FZR. But you won't have to do any conversion work to make it naked.

JB,

Why not get an old Speed Triple?

Grin index is off the charts, and it'd be easier to "customize" it than to strip a sportbike.

Heck, put a turbo on it! Get the Nuclear Red tank and the Roulette Green fenders. You'd fit right in if you park it at the local Taqueria (sp?).
