Wall-E + Moon + The Matrix + Independence Day. = Oblivion.

Pretty decent flick. Definitely a recommended rental. Not a must-see at the theater, but worthwhile.

We sawr it last night. Not bad. Wasn't boring. Not something I would want to see twice.

Olga Kurylenko has done a good job of overcoming her Ukrainian accent and she isn't hopless as an actress unlike most big time models.
They completely stole the ending! I won't say from what movie (if you've seen it you know), but damn! Even some specfic details...

Buzz must not see this movie. The motorcycle will ruin it for him...

Hell, it stole from LOTS of movies. Derivative as all get-out. Morgan Freeman was basically playing Morpheus. But still interesting (until the last act, which as you say was a big helping of "seen it.")

Morpheus as in Forbidden Planet? Or the Greek dude? Hell now I have to go look it up.
All the best

I wish Olga Kurylenko all the best. She was devestated after I called it off. Sweet girl. Hopefully her movie career will offer some needed consolation.
Forbidden Planet was Shakespeare's "Tempest" re-imagined. Most movies are derivative of something to a greater or lesser degree. This one was mostly derivative, but was overall pretty good.

I could have done without the kid tripping when running from the drones. And why didn't they just let the drone go rather than try to haul it out in that 50cal sled? Because "It's In The Script". And the ending had me looking for an insulin injection.

Still, it was an enjoyable 2 hours.

As in, Lawrence Fishburne in The Matrix.

Same character.

Is it a total fantasy? Like a guy escaping on an electric motorcycle?

This is why you MUST NOT see the movie. Ever.
OK, SPOILERS below, don't read after Ken's quote if you don't want to see them...

If you're implying the movie stole from "Independence Day", you are sadly mistaken.

In "Independence Day", black box-office champion Will Smith played would-be astronaut Captain Hiller, who with a white sidekick pilots a small alien spacecraft to the enormous alien mothership, which they blow up with an atom bomb. In "Oblivion", white box-office champion Tom Cruise played actual astronaut Captain Harper, who with a black sidekick pilots a small alien spacecraft to the enormous alien mothership, which they blow up with an atom bomb. Totally different.

Oh. Well. I stand corrected. Thanks for explaining it to me.
I will admit I was surprised when #52 showed up.

I thought the movie was okay. There were enormous holes in the plot, but what can you do in only a hundred minutes or so?

The swimming pool bothered me. Why the heck was that in the movie? The skinny-dip sequence was superfluous, no?

"Superfluous skinny dipping scene" is an oxymoron. Naked hot chicks are always appropriate.
Hard.

It's hard to argue against naked hot chicks. It's even harder to argue against hot naked chicks. IMO

Unfortunately for Julia #1-48 and #53-100 showed up the next day.
