Uh ZRX, this was a READER submission. MO did not write, solicit or get compensated for it. In fact, there are NO Harley or Buell ads on Motorcycle.Com nor have they paid us anything since their last campaign expired several months ago.

Since you evidently own a Kawasaki ZRX, why don't you take the time and write your own multi thousand word impression of it, including pros and cons. If you submit it, I promise you it will be posted as a reader submission, exactly like this one was.

In the past year, Buell has won one MO shootout, Yamaha has won two and Honda has won two. We reviewed a Kawasaki (KX-250F) at the begining of the year and gave it a glowing review.

It doesn't look like much bias to me. Then again, I'm probably biased. -Sean

Re: Numbers don't lie, but KP does

Nobody claimed a Buell XB-12 was a "Ninja Killer" YOU are the ONLY one who is saying that it is a 600 killer.

KP we had a very similiar discussion about this stuff with you about a year ago, when discussing an old Suzuki GS1000 and modern 600s. Eventually you (at least claimed) to have an epiphany and said you finally got it. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT TORQUE AND ITS EFFECT IN REAL WORLD RIDING SITUATIONS.

If you are "racing" a modern 600 in a street dragrace and AT ANY time your revs fall down to the 5,000RPM range, then you are totally clueless as to how to ride an inline four sportbike. For your revs to drop all the way down to 5,000RPM after an upshift, you must have shifted out of first at around 8,000RPM. If you really raced anything on your ZX-6R, you'd already know this. If you DO indeed ride as your words seem to indicate, then yes, a Buell will absoloutely smoke you, as you are only using about 40% of the performance of your engine.

The key to Buells being effortlessly quick on the street, is that at typical street RPMS the Buells are already operating near their torque peaks and thus can hard accelleration in an instant. Meanwhile the Buell is disappearing, as you are trying to climb out from under 6,000RPM and are WAY WAY down in your powerband.

Bottom Line, If you're just sitting at a stoplight like normal and not "staged" with your tach at 11,500RPM, when that light turns green, the Buell rider will simply open his throttle and accellerate briskly away from you. If you DID know how to extract maximum performance from your modern 600 and you WERE prepared for a race at that instant, then you's smoke the Buell and come back to tell us all about what a hero you are. However you wouldn't ben mentioning anything about "5,000RPM" while you were at it. -Sean

KPaul Says

KPaul says: "I am trying to separate the propaganda from fact"

WHY? You are NOT QUALIFIED to try and seperate motorcycle propoganda from fact. In fact, you are one of the worst "propoganda" spouters on this thread. -Sean

KPaul's Sex Life

KP says: "had great sex with the with wife and went to sleep"

I'm sure she appreciates the fact that you don't even have to wake her up to have sex with her. Do you clean-up when you are done, or make her wake up the following morning with a nasty surprise?

Counting Skillz

I have designed and executed five extremely well received multi-bike shootouts in the past 12 months. However, I have to hand it to you, cause true that I'm not 1/2 the editor I wish I was.

On the bright side, I just came home from work, fed the wife, took the kids out to the curb and had sex with your dog. -Sean

Re: twins are in

4VWW says: "(Sean would call it a 180 degree v twin)"

I would? I've never considered myself "Geometrically Challenged". The post you are refering to indicates that I was speaking of "others" on the 180° twin topic.

The Kawasaki WILL NOT go 0-60 in 2.9 seconds, when the rider simply rolls-on the throttle. Not from 5,000RPM and not even from 9,000RPM. That's a simple fact. -Sean

Re: Twins for Dummies and MO editors

I said "twin", not V-twin.

Speaking of twins, why don't you go back and re-read my posting where you claim that I stated a horizontally opposed engine was a V-twin. If you can comprehend it, you will notice that I did NOT say that I considered horizontally opposed twins to be V-twins, I simply stated that some "Geometrically Challenged" people have called them 180° V-twins. I even went so far as to say that in reality a 180° would equal a straight line. Get your facts straight, or go home. -Sean
