Direct Air Service. They have metal crates you can rent. DAS is on the web. LAX to JFK $600.00 all-in. Has to be picked up at the DAS terminal.
That is what I am thinking. The thing is I have to drive like 20 hours (going and coming back) I found a freight service that seems pretty reasonable but I have to call them about it. With gas prices it will probably equal out with my gas guzzler of a Jeep. Thanks for all the advice.I just bought a nice hitch at Y'all Haul for about $250.00. They rent a very nice motorcycle trailer with a ramp and tie down points for about $15 a day, one-way. Add a set of 4 ratcheting straps, gas money, cheeseburgers, and you're still at less than 1/2 the shipping cost. You'll wind up with a hitch that will come in handy, and you don't have to wait weeks for your bike.
Prolly felt like he'd been hanging on to a chainsaw that was out of control for a few hours! I did like that little ba$tard though! :wink:Could you catch a cheapo Southwest airlines flight there and ride the bike back?
When I sold my Brutale, I went and picked the buyer up at the airport. We exchanged the cash at my house and he rode the little MV from here to Las Vegas. Lord only knows what he felt like when he got there!
He was a tall guy too. It's about 275 miles up 15 from here to Vegas. I'm sure the new bike fever helped him make it.Prolly felt like he'd been hanging on to a chainsaw that was out of control for a few hours! I did like that little ba$tard though!
