Question on Motorcycle Shipping

I am a noob to purchasing a vehicle online and I have found a site that I have spoken with that I feel comfortable purchasing a bike from. I just wanted to know if someone can tell of a shipping company that is decently priced and pretty fast as far as shipping. I know the price range is between $400 - $600 and i know it can be a like up to 6 weeks to ship so i was wondering if someone knows of any company that doesn't take too long and won't bleed me dry. If worse comes to worse I may just purchase a hitch and drive the 10 hours. Any help would be appreciated.

Direct Air Service. They have metal crates you can rent. DAS is on the web. LAX to JFK $600.00 all-in. Has to be picked up at the DAS terminal.
I just bought a nice hitch at Y'all Haul for about $250.00. They rent a very nice motorcycle trailer with a ramp and tie down points for about $15 a day, one-way. Add a set of 4 ratcheting straps, gas money, cheeseburgers, and you're still at less than 1/2 the shipping cost. You'll wind up with a hitch that will come in handy, and you don't have to wait weeks for your bike.

That is what I am thinking. The thing is I have to drive like 20 hours (going and coming back) I found a freight service that seems pretty reasonable but I have to call them about it. With gas prices it will probably equal out with my gas guzzler of a Jeep. Thanks for all the advice.
Could you catch a cheapo Southwest airlines flight there and ride the bike back?

When I sold my Brutale, I went and picked the buyer up at the airport. We exchanged the cash at my house and he rode the little MV from here to Las Vegas. Lord only knows what he felt like when he got there!

Prolly felt like he'd been hanging on to a chainsaw that was out of control for a few hours! I did like that little ba$tard though!

He was a tall guy too. It's about 275 miles up 15 from here to Vegas. I'm sure the new bike fever helped him make it.

I would but this is the wrong season to be riding especially when I am buying it Ohio. I found a freight service that says they can do it in 2 business days. Has anyone heard of freightcenter.com?
You should check out uShip.com. I bought a bike on eBay and had it shipped from the East Coast to the Midwest by a private shipper who was coming out this way anyway for under $400. And I didn't have to wait weeks.
If you bought the bike sight-unseen I'd want to rent a truck and drive there to take a gander at it before I took possession. I'm sure it's all legitimate but it'd be worth taking a few days off for a road trip to check it out to me.
