I really hate orange!

Nice looking bike. I only hope that KTM sold all of their orange paint to MZ. That way, when the RC-8 finally comes out, I won't want to puke. Hello: Orange, it's a trim color!

Nice synopsis, Gabe. How were the vibes? Same sweet switchgear as the 1000S? Did it have the MZ trademark super-heavy-needs-to-be-replaced-soon can?

By the way, that’s some red hot action in the video…

since I'm a Duc snob I thought hmm....

fairing doesn't block the wind.

only 115 at the rear wheel.

mufflers too low, they look goofy.

although I'm strangely attracted to the orange paint?

maybe in hopes of an R8 in the near future?

oh well.

another small volume manufacturer trying to get a piece of the American Pie.

at over 10K for a naked, it's gonna be a long hard road.

it's not in my 'wish list' for '06

to continue..

not to say there aren't 10K+ naked bikes out there (monster for one)

it's just that the UJM consortium has a lock on 8K to 10K rocket ships

maybe if I was Warren Buffet I'd pick one up. :)... just to be different.

I have my eye on a SR4 that's screaming at me every time I walk through the Duc dealer!!!!!!!!

please stop me now. not another money pit!

I'll Leave Red-Hot Action to the Porn Sites...

The switchgear was the same, (very nice quality) and the motor was pretty smooth. I don't know about the mufflers. I assume they are a little lighter than what they put on the Skorpions, as they're muffling two cylinders with two cans.

$10K+ is a lot to pay for odd-ball exclusiveness - unless you consider a hunting vest as a fashion statement, that is. Though I have to admit that the color would come in handy, if you're broke down in traffic. Now (considering the name of the parent company, Hong Leong) I'll be spending the next week trying to get the concept of a bike called the Hung Long out of my head.

Martin gave me some sheepherding pointers

The Aerostich's tough fabric keeps those ewe's sharp hooves from scratching my thighs. The gloves have velcro on the palms for a secure grip.

You'll go a Waltzing Matilda

Keep it up and you're gonna end up being made an honorary Aussie. By the way, does anyone know how many cans of Fosters it takes, for sheep sex to seem like a good idea?

:)

The Halloween color scheme only works one day per year and those cans hanging out are sooooo 20th century. The fairing resembles an inverted shovel and looks slapped on and out of place. Why would anyone buy this bike over a (discounted) Buell or FZ1? Oh well, I'm obviously not the market for this bike....

I really would like a Norton or a Laverda but I would like the bike to also look like either one of those. This thing looks as bad as the KTM. Any one out there realize that us 50+ riders have some spare cash but different taste? Some large manufacturer needs to hire Ken Dreer for a day or 20.

No offense intended, but is anything on the Z1000 original? It looks like a morph between the S2R and the Tuono. At least this bike has some original character, albeit ugly, in my opinion. I think it needs the fake red plastic clutch cover like the Z1000 to really sort it out!

Gotta disagree with ya. From the owner of two very bright yellow vehicles, orange is way cool.

Remember all those cool Gremlins, Vegas, and Pintos in the 70's. Hmmmm, come to think of it, I do remember all those Gremlins, Vegas, and Pintos, and there was nothing cool about them. OK, you may be right.

The General Lee was orange though, and it was definitely cool.

Yes, some large American manufacturers come to mind ;-)

This is obviously made for the younger folks, say 30+, with some spare cash, and the need to differentiate themselves from the rest of their peers. Which may be the raison'D'etre of Ducati and quite possibly the reason I keep oogling the Monster.

Of course, this message might be answered by somebody saying I am wrong; 30+ ain't young and this bike is for the early 20' crowd and an URGE to stand out. And looking at the color combo they might be right.
