Check local laws. Radar detectors are illegal in many areas. Also, make sure that the cops in your area aren't using laser instead of radar. Despite what the manufacturers will tell you laser detectors are next to worthless. The shift to laser is happening and it won't be too many years until radar is a thing of the past.
