Rook rike Honda find little more powah. How bout that Mikey Cicotto in FX tho? Seventh on the Buell massey fergusson on a serious horsepower track. a mere 2 places behind an exotic 749 ducati ridden by serial superbike champ dougy chandler. must be a fluke, everybody knows the buells are junk.

formula extreme is a joke

i guess chandler's duc has some factory support, i dunno. nobody else cares but honda. the rr wouldn't win anywhere else. wait that's not true, i saw a yellow one and a red one sitting out front at the park bistro. they look better than the gixxers. so there is that.

on behalf of the rest of the known universe and a couple of places yet undiscovered, and myself, buell's might not be junk.

they sound really cool for one thing.

need to rent one to attend the class reunion of the jack kerouac school of disembodied poetics this summer. seems about the right thing to do.

Yes the Duc is a full spec WSBK factory racer

And yes FX is a Honda PR joke. But some pressure is getting applied as the season goes on, prob to little to late.

At least in superbike , it looks like we have a horse race for champion (lost some $$ on a horse this weekend as well)

Actually, the duc is still *mostly* stock, at least according to the boys at HMC. They're getting more parts all the time though, so by the end of the season they might actually be able to challenge the factory hondas, who knows.

Re: formula extreme is a joke

yep, but the money spent to go a little faster is hideous. a superbike should be way faster than a supersport imo or why do it. i recognize not everyone would agree.

are you one of those triumph guys who show up at pacific raceways en masse?

i try to help you people, but...

also see Barney got 8th in Supersport on a inline somethin or other, which confirms he is sort of a front of midpack guy. With Zemke on it, who weighs like 65 pounds, how would Buell go in FX ya think? i don't recall seeing any DNFs either so far.

You have a good point about a superbike should be much faster

No I ride a 01 ZX-6R and I haven't been out to PR yet. I am thinking about stepping up to a 955 Daytona mostly cause of the sound and looks. Would like to keep my ZXr and turn it into a Track bike. Was in Vegas on Business last week, wanted to go by and check out Freddy Spencer's school but was too busy. Kind of chicken to race without expert instruction.

Re: What mods do the Buells have?

lots and lots, probably.

They're allowed to do a lot of things that the other's aren't; they can be 1349cc's, they can have modified airboxes, etc, etc, etc. They MUST have slightly different noise/exhause restrictions, just listen to them.

I don't know what they REALLY have done, just what they rules let them do, but it stands to reason that they'd take what they could get...

Re: I am telling you Buell should be like the Raiders of the AMA

Check your racing history, Picotte rode his ass of for factory HD. Saw from the inside the disdain that upper management has for road racing. Probable has a real bad taste in his mouth from those years.

But, who knows, he might really want to ride an under powered great handling machine, with no actual hope of full factory support again.

Yates and Gobert on the same team, bring on the WWF. The black leather chromed riding cloves, mohawks, the pit fights (just between Yates a GO)

Could be entertaining

Re: What mods do the Buells have?

Buell PR guy said very few mods due to being privately sponsored team and lack of funds. Stock wheels even. Contrast Chandler's Ducati which i hear is highly modded many parts from Ducati Corse. We won't even include the factory Hondas...

apparently the ama has honda parts

hard as it seems to have an illegal mod on an fx bike, amasoup/superbikeplanet.com is reporting that the ama is looking at engine internals of the honda fx bikes. i am not a honda fan but i'd feel bad for miguel if somethings amiss. they also had complaints about some illegal sensors but none were "observed". i imagine those complaining were hallucinating. i know i do when i get the chance.

Re: formula extreme is a joke

I rented one for three days (XB12R Firebolt). At first, I couldn't make heads or tails out of this strange bike. Once I got a little accustomed to it, I had a fargin' blast (no pun intended). And I rode it from Ft. Lauderdale to Key West and actually found it comfortable (results may vary). The gearbox needs work, though. Although, once I adjusted to it, the torque did most of the work.

Still makes you wonder how good the bike could be with a newer engine, but it's still a ton of fun the way it is.

I was skeptical at first but now would consider buying one if the price weren't so steep.
