Leave it to some over-thinking, under-understanding college profs to come up with such a redundant, convoluted way of taxing. You might be able to save a few state dollars by scrapping state colleges. You want to find waste, you'll find plenty there. Those countless hours spent in meaningless research in an effort to contribute to the common body of knowledge would be better spent actually trying to teach someone something useful. Get those dumb-assed teaching assistants out of the system. Have the universities and colleges follow an output model instead of their inward focus of inputs. Then you might have this country move forward.

You guys who say that you should be rewarded for buying fuel-efficient vehicles are missing the point. The problem is that as enough people do buy fuel efficient vehicles, the tax revenues go down...

The state hates when that happens, so it's time to start looking at another method of taxing folks.

If I ever buy a car with a GPS unit mounted in it, the first order of business will be to rip it out.

I had to renew my license today and now I must write my social security number on the application form, in violation of Regulation number 1 by the SSA board in 1937, as well as the federal privacy act of 1974.

This due to some welfare reform act passed last year, for some deadbeat dad problem I guess.

Funny, I don't collect welfare, I don't have kids, and social security has nothing to do with me driving a car. I'll probably only see a small fraction of that money I dumped down the rat hole, if any.
