I've seen it hear in California on Interstate 80, between Vacaville and Sacramento. I was doing a truck delivery and a whole gaggle (since they migrate like birds) of some 20-30 stunters raced around 4 wheel traffic (I was doing 70 mph mind you), and in essence caused the traffic to back off (guys at the back of the pack zigged back-n-forth to scare off traffic while the rest proceeded to wheelie and balance stunts at I'm some 70-80 mhp for 5-6 miles.

They abruptly all gunned it -- I'm guessing they know cops might be coming -- and disappeared at warp 15.

I'm talking they were doing some really crazy, sick ***** which would have wowed me if I'd see in on a closed lot or unused street, but NOT in heavy car traffic at high speeds. I'm sure it was a thrill for them, but I can't say it was my proudest hour of being an avid motorcyclist, and it probably significantly tainted the image of motorcycles (and the crazy rider image) tenfold for those in cars that day. It was probably a good thing I was in a truck, or some 4 wheeler might have hit me out of spite... they all seemed either shook up, scared or pissed off. Me, I just waited to see if there was any road paste as I drove, but the stunters were obviously good. I'm down for backlot and closed street stunting, but stupid ***** like this will changed laws quickly if any of those car drivers was heading up to Sac to the legislature.

Somewhat true, but squids do it just as much in this modern era!

As much as the biker image with loud pipes might offend some, so do 'busa riders doing 140+ while weaving through traffic, or stunters doing wheelies and stopies heavy traffic.

It's a combination of negative images. I'm a crotch rocket rider -- have been for 20+ years -- and I don't want to think riders need to spend all their time improving motorcycle image in the eyes of automobilists (cuz the rebel is part of the reason many ride) but some things we do severe damage to perception, which in turn may get laws passed that would dramatically restrict us.

I'm sure say f*** 'em, but until we can ride the world of 4-wheels, we're the minority that must always fight for our rights.

Man... I'm the typo king. Here's what I meant to say (i.e., typo-free):
