Re: 1098 was a mistake in the long run..
Most Motorsports sanctioning-bodies allow the use of a homologated vehicle for a year or two after the vehicles' "demise" in the real world, to facilitate Privateer efforts (you've JUST developed your racer to a competitive level on a shoestring-budget, now it's Illegal?).
Some hold different views of the Factory effort. Obviously, Ducati has favoured-status, or they wouldn't be racing the 999.
