I think it's a good idea for the AMA to piggyback its events onto other forms of racing for greater exposure, however, Champ car crowds are dismal these days with the open wheel civil war still going on.



As a lifelong "Indycar" fan, I remember the days of former F1 drivers coming to Champ car and experiencing "real" racing vs. the parade that is F1.

Just think how much fun it would be if they ran the cars, bikes and karts together on the dirt track. Kind of like a modernized "Death Race 2000".

I'm guessing the new Aprilia is now approved for competition in the AMA. How long before they permit it in MX?

Maybe they can have a bunch of midgets pile out of the champ cars after the race and chase each other around with seltzer bottles....

Yeah I remember when Nigel Mansel won the F1 championship, then went to "Indycar" and won that championship as a rookie.

well Nigel was one of the drivers mentioning how brutal those Champ Car races were compared to F1.



Street courses, Road courses, Short ovals and Long ovals.



Don't forget Mansell was on Team Penske which was a pretty fair ride bike then.
