My wife as the '03 Volusia 800, which is pretty much an C50. If the M50's close in handing and performance, it's a great bike. She has Cobra pipes and has been jetted to match and it hauls nicely at all rpms and speeds. Handling's a bit porky at slow speeds, but about 25 mph it's a just fine. Don't know about the V-Star, but they have a good rep.

How is the Retro Duc? Better than you hoped? Or not?

I ask because I really want one.

I'm really enjoying it. The air-cooled Duc motor is something every motorcyclist should experience. It's got great mid-range power and the sound alone is worth every penny.

it surely does look sweet -- I thought about the paul smart but I put too many miles on a bike in a single ride to be THAT uncomfortable.

I was originally interested in the Sport 1000 but it was too uncomfortable to put serious miles on. Plus being all stretched out like that made it seem unsafe in traffic because it was really hard to turn my head back and forth.

And I go to the gym! A lot!

That's why buckhorn handlebars are available, Buz. A simple bar swap on that Duc and Bob's yer uncle!
