Yeah, but what would they 'charge' them with!?

HAR! I kill me!

My buddy called me yesterday, and said he had just seen the "Ultimate Optimist".

He saw a Smart car with a receiver hitch!
This from the fascist who wants to ban all churchgoers (about 125million people) from voting or holding office.

Anyhow, simply call them "terrorist threats" and they can be held without charges or judicial review forever. Oh wait. Obama was going to repeal that legislation.

Oh wait. He didn't repeal it. He expanded it.

Ah, never mind.

Democrat = Fascist.
So how do you explain Motor Trend, one of the most respected auto jounals in country, naming the S their "Car of the Year?" Or Automobile Magazine, a less-known, but equally well-respected journal, also naming it Car of the Year? Or my December copy of Car and Driver, that had a 5-page feature story on the S that had nothing but praise for it, not as an electric car, but as an outstanding automobile overall?
They named the fecking K-Car the "Car of the Year" back in like 1980, for shyte's sake.

Hey now, that landau top LeBaron with the white vinyl seats was a pretty snappy little number...

Faux-Tree Killer!

And think of all the Naugha's that gave their lives JUST to cover your seats!
A left wing rag is trying to sell papers by saying electric cars suck?

You had your chance and bought a 20 year old replica. That's all we really needed to know.

I hope Daryl Hannah blames the next hurricane on you.
This might be difficult for you to grasp, but not all of us have $20 large to drop on any bike we feel like buying. Or the scratch to own 3 or 4 at a time. I think the Multistrada is an amazing bike. Didn't buy one. The ZX14...same thing. I even think your Yuppiecycle/6 is cool, but I didn't buy one of those either. Does that mean they're no good? Hardly. I'm buying the bike that checks the most boxes at a price I can afford.

If me personally not buying an electric bike is the best argument against them you can come up with, I'd say Brammo and Zero don't have s thing to worry about.

I would have made the same decision.

Good for you. Smart move.

But, if the "true believers" won't stretch and sacrifice, I don't see either one of them around much longer.

You could buy some stock and prove me wrong but we know you won't be doing that either.

"Buy some stock." You kill me Buzz.

When you make a casual bet, it's for $10,000, isn't it?

Lots of small investors buy 10 shares here. Ten shares there.

You may not become Warren Buffett that way but if this "exciting" technology is so good you should at least double your money.

Plus you'll be putting your money where your mouth is.

Of course, you drive a 40 year old replica car and now a 40 year old replica bike. So I guess "emerging" technology doesn't mean much to you.

I have a friend who started out with a few shares here and there. After 20 years he's built a pretty good portfolio.
Plan

If we can just get a Government stipend of some kind we can use those funds to finance investments and/or motorcycle purchases. They don't need to know that the money they are sending us isn't being used for it's intended purpose. We will also be able to rationalize it in our own minds. Kind of like child support in a divorce. Yeah, lets buy up some alternative energy stocks. The Government is borrowing the money anyway. That makes it OK.

The only thing the Mini and Honda have in common with their ancestors is appearance. The technology on both is completely modern. But you already knew that.

A Prius gets double the mileage at a lower cost but I guess the environment isn't really one of the buttons you press.
Bottom line: They suck. No better chemical batteries are forecast, except as some sort of faith-based hope and prayer that also depends on an unending font of borrowed and depreciating cash. Enjoy them until the Federal subsidies run out.

Yeah, my Mini is a poster-child for extravagent energy use. It barely averages over 30mpg! Not to mention the hassle of trying to squeeze the thing into parking spots, "Green" people yelling at me when I'm gassing up...it's embarassing.

At least I have friends at the weekend mud-bogs and truck-pull meets who understand.
I think he has a point though Ken, the Prius is the de facto Official Green Car to own. It's a viable and useful vehicle, not some short range full electric that needs charging every 15 minutes. It's widely available, reasonably priced and a Toyota for Christs sake... the very paragon of feel-good corporate benevolance, and yet when the time came to lay down your own coin you went for a fun somewhat impracticle Mini over the obvious Green choice.

With all your enviromental tub thumping it does smack just a little bit as hypocricy......
Green car

My green car is a Z06 Corvette. It only uses 4cylinders at 80 mph.

Mine is a Bullitt Mustang - I've gotten nearly 27mpg out of it, the thing is a brute and can annihilate the rear tires at will in the first three gears....

(Dark Highland Green, that is!)
"Cars"? What are "cars"?
"Cars"? What are "cars"?
Horesless Carriages my Good Man.... The Motor Car...

I traded in my fuel efficient low emission Ford Fusion for another gas guzzling SUV myself, the realities of my life other than commuting when it's cold and rainy showed that a car alone just won't work for me. I either need a car and a 4x4 pick-up or a 4x4 SUV to do all the crap I like doing. The car was comfy and good on gas and...umm.. that's about it.

With the '10 Explorer I got I can haul a ton of junk or camping gear, go bashing around logging roads, get around in the snow or haul grand kids around with all their junk. The only thing it doesn't do is get good gas mileage, fortunately I ride the Heritage most of the time anyway and that gets 40+ so while the 17 the Explorer gets is a little spendy it's not really a daily driver except for a few months in the winter.

It all comes out even in the end
