The only dangerous things about the Deals Run are:



1. Potential tickets

2. Squids riding WAY over their heads

3. Cruiser types holding up traffic for no good reason other than a terminal lack of ground clearance - and riding skill.

4. 'effin idiot truck drivers using 129 as a "short cut".



Advice from a regular: don't be a weekend regular. Go on a weekday - in the morning.



And remember what the great Yogi said: "nobody goes there anymore - too crowded."



Finally - there are plenty of great roads up there. Don't waste too much time on the Dragon. Ride it a time or two and move on...otherwise you be wasting the ONE fully non-renewable resource; TIME

The wife and I rode a rented ST1300 on The Dragon while on vacation in the Smokies. That bike works pretty good hustling through there, even two up. The bags worked well for picking up souvenirs. Just keep your eyes peeled for supermoto riders coming out of turns sideways with the front wheel in the air!
