the best learner legal bike?

I've decided to start riding decpite everyone telling me i will die on my first ride with traffic. the only problem is i don't know what bike will be the best for me. i'm looking at getting a 250 but can't decide between the GPX250R, ZZ-R250 (new model), VTR250, CBR250 or the new 125, the aprilia 125, a learner legal 650 hyosung GT-R and the list goes on. please offer your advise it will be apreciated

I'm guessing you're not an American, as you don't want to start on a Harley or a Hayabusa.

Any of the bikes you mentioned sound fine as beginner bikes. You might also consider dual-sport (enduro) bikes as they are very easy to handle.
Amazing isn't it? How many experts there are out there who never rode a motorcycle. Or did ride once extremely incompetently.

Looks like you're in "sport" mode. Since most of these bikes have never seen the shores of the USA I imagine you live "elsewhere". Hyosung makes a 250 thats very nice- might want to check on it. Aprilia would probably be the most fun out of the bunch and may be the way to go if you want to go to "track-day" events. How's the 650 getting "learner" status, anyway? It's a 72hp bike here in the US.

They sell detuned versions in Europe. When I was in Germany, I had my Sportster and XT600 insured as 27 PS (Pferde Starke = HP) versions. Saved a bunch that way.

IIRC one could buy a 27 PS GPZ600 (ZX-6) at the time.
