I'd get another Triumph before I got either one. A Speedmaster would look good in my garage.

Re: Another thing Harley was out front on

That's impossible, everyone knows the Buell needs a new engine to be any fun, plus they all granade within the first 500 miles. You can't possibly be having any fun.

"I'm all for it, let's subsidize it with tax money so it's affordable."

Howz'bout all us motorcyclists pay for the class ourselves when we take it, rather than asking everybody else to subsidize our interest.

"They are expanding rapidly for a new clone manufacturer"

There's nothing "clone" about Victory bikes. That's like saying the Honda V-twin sportbike (damn if I can think of the model name) is a clone of a Ducati.

Tell your wife that it's your f***ing money.

Take what she makes, take what you make, figure the proportion, divvy the bills in that proportion, and invest (savings, 401K, whatever) in that proportion. What's left of your paycheck after that is yours, same for her. Easy-peasey.

My wife and I have been doing that for the sixteen years of our marriage, and we've had zero fights about money.

Smart man.

Retire the "hotcakes" thing, though. I mean, outside of the South, how well do hotcakes really sell?

How about, "They sell like weed in kreb's hippie commune"?

You have a china cabinet and more than one bike?

Damn, Rockefeller. Next you'll be saying you've got a dinette set, too.

Well, yes on the dinette set. It was all free antique furniture that my wife got from her uncle from his estate in Wyoming. Nice old oak pieces from the early 1900s.

Not as good as that new stuff that he-who-can't-be-named thinks is so great.

And it'll be one more bike if that deal on the '80 GL1100 goes through.

That's PREPOSTEROUS!

Why should *I* have to pay for something like that? Isn't Uncle Sam supposed to smooth-over all my troubles, raise my children for me, keep me safe (WITHOUT going to War!), keep companies from moving our jobs overseas (but make *DAMN* sure they pay most of the taxes and give out the highest wages for even menial tasks), provide free healthcare insurance blah, blah, blah, blah. Yakk-yakk blah-bl-blah, so on and so forth..........

In fact, I'm gonna call my Congressperson and get them right on it........

I was amused by a review of the Harley-Ford F150 a couple of years ago - the reviewer commented something likel: "It's just like a standard F-150, only blacker and with more chrome, and lots and lots of Bar-and-Shield emblems and insignia. In fact, it's almost like Ford is embarrassed to admit it's one of their vehicles, as there are 15 'Harley-Davidson' badges and one 'Ford' on the entire truck, and that one's on the engine."

The commune folded, we couldn't agree which dumpsters were the good ones.
