That bit about the idiots coming for the saturday night drinking but not the race was spot on. Last year, We rode 4500 km (round trip) for the race, and a bunch of yobbos drove for an hour to spoil the party with firecrackers, brickthrowing and general ****headedness.

It made me wonder what sort of attendance there would have been if it was a dry event (which no one wants).

"They're nothing to do with the race, they weren't there with the intention of going to the race," he said...

Ha ha ha! Bike week at Loudon, Daytona or Sturgis in the U.S. have pretty much the same stat's of more than 90 Percent of the people never make it to the track. (not enough naked women there I guess)

It is a big reason many go there is the party. Not me. I go just to get a good deal on $5 clear glasses.

I've been to Mid-Ohio for 3 straight years now for the AMA races. Although it isn't the big drunk fest that I hear Daytona and others are, there still seem to be a lot of people there who are more interested in showing off their bikes (and babes) than there are real face fans there to watch the race. I've heard the campgrounds get pretty crazy too with all night parties, burnouts and other stupid behavior
