The truth of the matter is that we're hard to see. People see big ass trucks because, well, they're big, and also, because they can hurt them. We don't qualify in either way. A motorcycle can disappear into a 'blind spot' for much longer than a car can. I ride, have ridden for thirty five years, and can still lose one in my blind spot when I'm driving. The key to survival on a motorcycle is to assume you are invisible, and act accordingly.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't find it harder to see bikes anymore than other vehicles. I think the "I didn't see him" excuse is BS 90% of the time.

The fact is: they aren't looking! Cell phones, talking to people in the rear view mirror. Takes em away from what they should be doing - paying attention and driving.

The only ******* is you, and an ignorant one at that.

You start off by saying nobody takes enjoyment out of them dying, but in the same sentence you start making derogatory statements about them and HD in general.

They were people like you and I, more than likely with families and jobs. Their only "crime" was that they simply prefer to ride a brand of motorcycle other than your own. Your inability to appreciate not all people share your needs and make choices the same as yours, does not make them inferior. What it does mean is that you are an ignorant *******

"but as a whole Harley riders are the worst riders"

The insurance industry, law enforcement agencies and statistics disagree with that statement. The riders who experience the most traffic violations and cause the most accident by a very large margin are sports bikers. Of course, ignorant assholes like you and kp think the insurance industry, law enforcement agencies and statistics are wrong

"on about the worst bikes made"

Another misconception. For my needs, a sport bike is totally useless. Of course, an iignorant ******* like yourself is incapable of realizing that other have no need to pull wheelies on the road and do 120mph in built up areas.

"I think next year they should just trailer the bikes all the way"

Like your opinion matters?

"whole point of these things is to ride 5 minutes and spend the other 23 hours and 55 remaining minutes of the day polishing your bike, drinking, and walking around with that stupid F-N "chip on my shoulder" look as to try to make everyone think that you're a real badass dude."

Mmm, yeah, you sport bikers really ride a lot. How many trips have you made dip*****? And of course, pulling wheelies and speeding is not trying to look like a badass? You f*ckheads are so vain you actually videotape yourselves pulling ***** like this.

Smith, go f*ck yourself … *******.

Amazing how some idiot like SmithRob dislike for a brand of bike make him take enjoyment from somebody’s death whilst riding said brand

I do not wish the same on him, but I sure wish he would keep the f*ck off threads like this one. If you have to make derogatory remarks about a brand of motorcycle and the folks that ride them there are number of other threads where that is way more apt.

Invented reality vs observable reality.

It is interesting to note that when my wife and I go for our bike trips through Utah, Wyoming, Arizona, Colorado, etc. we virtually never see any sportbikes, even on the mountain roads. About 80% of the bikes we see are HDs. The rest an eclectic assortment of nakeds, sporttourers, Wings, BMW's, etc.

Well, we have seen a few sportbikes parked in front of coffee shops on Sunday mornings.... and we see more on canyon roads near cities. Get 50 miles away and we never see any.

Most the sportbikes I see have very low miles on the odometers. I guess posing isn't limited to the GPTB.

You make deragatory comments all day long, also you talk about running "ricers" over. That shows what an inbred, asshat you really are. If anyone says anything about it you throw a hissy fit like the f*ckin' pu$$y you are. If anyone says anything about the bike you love you go off the handle and talk about running people over.

I've been riding since I was 11, asshat, MOST, not all, let's say 95% of the people riding your precious brand of bike are doing it to show off not for the enjoyment of riding, isn't that the point of these F-N things, show off your bike all day long.

I've ridden many Haley's over the years, as I grew up around bikes. Something tells me you've never ridden anything else or you wouldn't be sp defensive. I'm sick of your F-N BS day day in and day out. WE can go at this all day long, *******, you haven't said anything new that most of your ilk spew all day long, you must have a manuel that tells you what to say as you all sound like a broken record.

How am I taking enjoyment out of this, you're the one that makes comments about "stupid ricers" or "they deserved it" and time anyone on any other brand of bike gets killed.

Re: Invented reality vs observable reality.

To be sure, there are some guys who put beaucoup miles on their sportbikes. But, like the HD crowd, the vast majority are dilletantes... parked in front of the Burger Barn comparing specsheets.

And I still seldom see them when touring the intermountain west.

Re: Invented reality vs observable reality.

I hear ya. The vast majority of the bikes on the open road are H-D. And most of them aren't even on trailers!

Then of course you'll see quite a few BMW, Goldwing, etc.

The typical Supersport rider meets at the gas station at I5 and the Ortega hwy in the morning. Rides up and down the Ortega a couple of times and goes home.

I'm not entirely sure that Myrtle Beach needs much of a boost to its economy. If anything May should be a "catch-your-breath" month for them as they ease from the golf season into beach season. I imagine that the titty bars there like the crowds but I would guess that the rest of the residents could do without that gathering.
