You really need to find the Owners's manual.
And then, maybe the Service Manual.
The following is based on my '88. IIRC, the tranny level was checked with the dipstick which is attached to the bottom of the hollow socket "screw" on the right side of the bike. I don't remember if the level was checked with the bike on the sidestand or upright. I think the tranny was drained though a plug in the bottom of the housing.
The primary oil level is checked, and more added through the oblong "window" under the shift lever. It is drained through the pipe plug under the big round cover.
