My guess; it makes just under 95 hp, lower in the rev range than the Daytona. Still fun, but you're right; they doubtlessly will make sure it doesn't out-perform the 1050.

Here's another thought; an upgraded 1050 for 2008 that gets a 15-20hp boost.

Michigan will give you a fresh start, ksickle. Drive safe keep both tires on the ground..

kpaul is also blissfully unaware that liquid cooling tends to make a bike more of a PITA to work on, since he probably doesn't even do his own oil changes.

I have never had a bike fail off road due to any water cooling problems. That's because my off road bikes are, and will be, air cooled. One less thing to ball up when you're 50 miles from nowhere in the desert.

And, funny thing, when I go out in the desert with my friends my old air cooled DR400 gets to the destination at the same time as the guys on the latest and greatest wunderbikes. Hmmmm. Same thing happens when I'm on the road for that matter. What was that wonderful advantage again?

Re: You have a Valkrie?

HAD one ... long gone and much missed.

it's the wretched MO user interface that's ugly. how, exactly, can i change my handle?

my bikes now: K1200LT and 1000 v-strom. neither of them are beauty contest winners, but then again, neither trigger a gag reflex. unlike the new trumpet tart.

socko recently saw 3 Native Americans in single file leaving the casino. Based on his astute observation he generalized to say the all Native Americans come from casinos.

Hey shyteforbrains! I happen to live and work in the middle of one of the largest Native American populations in the US!

That was not at all a stereotypical statement you made, Mr. Homogeneity...........

But.... but..... it's...... low tech! You know - LOW TECH!!!

Do you know what a BOMB is that DOESN'T Explode?

Love the idea, hate the look. Nothing that some paint, new exhaust can and headlight/fly screen wouldn't fix. Make this thing look just a wee bit like a Bonnie and Triumph will sell a few more to us old bastards. The current Bonnie is ok but certainly lacks the cutting edge performance that the late-60s Bonnies represented. Take a look at Trident paint job sometime. Be it burgundy/white or black/gold, those were truly pretty. Duck-weed green is fine on a pond but it assaults the eyes when worn on a bike. Now, back to decaf for the rest of the day.
