65mph? That's just insane! Four or five mph is much more reasonable. That way old ladies with walkers would have pleanty of time to get out of the way of those demented trouble making motorcyclists.

Well, at least they are talking about doing it to cars as well. That should make everybody feel better. (snicker)

It's coming. Nothing you can do will stop it. Western Govts became totalitarian in nature a while back. They know that they can get away with any fascism if they make their proposals with a smile, carry out their goals incrementally and claim that they only want to make people safe and reduce health care costs. The lemmings line up and cheer loudly. Right arms extended.

"The motorcycle is an optional vehicle for pleasure, not utility. It is a toy, albeit an expensive one." -from the above linked-to article

apparently this editorial piece was written when gasoline was still 87 cents a gallon.

"Worldwide, an estimated 1.2 million people are killed in road crashes each year and as many as 50 million are injured. Projections indicate that these figures will increase by about 65% over the next 20 years..."

I think in America 100 mph is reasonable, but it's not going to happen here. Especially if they target cars as well. I think in England 80 mph makes sense or possibly 70 ....

Buy a Satellite phone dude if you think it is cheap. OnStar is one shot deal i.e. no continuous monitoring also OnStar has very very few subscribers. Despite what you say

Oh, YES mighty kfool/GMP! I'll run right out and do so! I wouldn't want to ever be "out of touch" because there is absolutely no cell-service here in flyover-country!

You could never be wrong, or off on some hare-brained tangent that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the subject at hand...........

Surprise kpecka'head! It's already happening! Most "non-performance" cars are already limited to ~110 or so. Some even lower. And there's rumblings every session of Congress to introduce Bills that will sweep everything under that rug.

Oh, I've already gone past that stage long-ago. Actually, I don't hate the squid, sometimes I just lose patience with him.

It's like talking to a perpetual 7-y.o., unmannered, undisciplined child. I have conversations with my youngest Niece that make more sense, and she's The Devil.

No, really; she's The Devil. Has a Lamborghini Diablo and everything..........
