Nope, just XXX that brings it up to, oh, around 140 proof. And you should talk with your new picture that looks like a glass tank of fermenting stuff with an air lock bubbler on it. Chicken feed don't work, tried it and I produced what tasted like insecticide. Great for killing weeds though.

Really? Wow!

I have a 1957 Allstate 250 which is in good condition but I'm not sure if I want to sell it. Are you still interested? How much do you think it is worth?
If it's in good shape and doesn't have much rust or piston slap I'd say at least $1,000.00. Does it look like this?:

I don't know what you're talking about. I am a clean, upstanding citizen and have never brewed any of that Devil Juice.

Exactly what part of a Devil do you have to squeeze to get Juice out of it? And how do you tell when one's ripe-enough for squeezin'?

Still Looking for a 250 Puch / Allstate ??

I have a 1959 Allstate 250cc (Puch of course) with 2K original miles on it. It is an extremely well preserved, unmolested creampuff. EVERYthing (except the battery) is original ~ down to the tires, which are still fine! Always stored inside, so she is sweet.

I plan to downsize this summer in prep for retirement & a project in Baja, but if you'd like first crack at it. . . .

How much? And I know of a 5000 sq.ft. mansion in Rosarito for sale real cheep. The ex-abode of Rick "Super Hunky" Sieman. Nice place, 8 foot walls, two stories, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms. Office in the back & RV parking in between. He's asking $100,000.00. A steal.

Would you trade for something? Like a BT99 Browning trap, Monte Carlo walnut stock with a morgan pad, 3 poly chokes? Last appraised at $1,100.00. in 2004.

Thanks, but not interested in trades.

Rosarito is a bargain because of all the narco warfare centered there...! Ever hear of TEO and his buddies? Evil incarnated

I'm not interested in trades, but thanks.... (and we're all gunned-up here in Idaho...) I'm slimming down on things.

As she sits right now (winter storage mode, dry, battery out, in my storage shop) I would entertain offers over $3,000. She is worth it !

Best,
David

Allstate/Puch

These old Allstates appear on the e-bay frequently. One just sold from my home town of Rapid City for about $600.00. I have nearly every Allstate that was in the Sear catalog!! Go to the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum web site and see a couple of my Allstates plus other machines I have in there. I need information for my current project though. What I need is a list of engine serial number ranges for the years the 250cc SG Model was produced. Also some general information or photos of the engines. When did the carburetor position change from the forward-projecting carb to the straight-in-from-the-side configuration? Also are most 250cc engine parts interchangeable? What about different compression ratios on these engines? If anyone has this information or know of a source please send me an e-mail. Kenny

Kenny,

Look in VMX magazine issue #38 that will be on the newstands in about two weeks, I did a complete history on the Puch. The twingle was patented in 1923, and it went from a rear-facing carb to the side mount in 1956. I will get with my Puch buddy and try to get you the serial numbers. The motor stayed pretty much un-changed from 1956 on up, 'till they quit selling them at Sears around 1969-1970. I'll send you the rough draft with a cut-away on the twingle for your enjoyment.

Compression ration was 6.5 to 1. The crank with the eccentric link stayed un-changed for the entire production run, with the exception of bearing materials and sizes.

Hi Guys,

Well, it's not a Puch (pronounced "puke" in my youth...), but if you are just interested in a two-stroke, there is a nice '73 Jawa with a sidecar on Craigslist/Atlanta for $3000.00. It looks nice.....and of course, sidecars make my heart go pittie-pat. :)

Alas, I have too many projects already.....

Puch Information

mscuddy,

I guess my last e-mail didn't go through. You had sent me a variety of information on the Puch split single. Unfortunately, my computer system needed to be upgraded before your information (dates, numbers, years, etc)could be downloaded. In my fumbling efforts to upgrade my system, I inadvertently deleted the info you sent!! Could you please re-send it to my e-mail address??
